TJ and I managed to discuss a used Toyota Tacoma over the phone across the span of a few hours on a Friday, and we were convinced THIS was THE VEHICLE and THE GUY and the FAMILY-OWNED business we HAD TO do business with. TJ happily and quickly sent photos of every ding/scuff, per our request, and he also sent detailed pictures of the tire tread, the leather seats, the dash/vehicle amenities, and the bed/bed cover. He didn't seem bothered or too busy to entertain AND more than adequately answered myriad questions as well as provided numerous details regarding the dealership's financing options and how-tos to satisfy this ever-asking, reformed English teacher!
Within 4 hours, we had agreed to the price, he had faxed everything down to us/our bank in St. Louis, had the vehicle detailed and filled up, and stored inside overnight per my request that it be inside for the evening, so that after having been washed/detailed it wouldn't get dew on it nor have bug spots or birdie do from any overnight visitors! I headed to the bank by 5 pm, signed the note, got a Cashier's Check for the balance, and arranged for our 3.5 hour drive up into Western IL the next morning for our first (but, we would learn the day of, DEFINITELY NOT OUR LAST) visit to the endearing town full of Colonel Rock dog statues, fried lip & dip-filled restaurants, and must-try-next-time pizza joints (unfortunately they were all closed during our visit...no one knew or could explain why Chubby's, Gelsosomo's, AND Larry A's were all closed mysteriously at 1:30/3 on a SATURDAY?!).
But I digress, so, by the time we arrived, because I had shared with TJ about our daughter being hospitalized and our need for a swift sale, he and the sales manager Jared, both greeted us in the lot when we pulled up, asked about how our daughter was doing, said they'd been praying, and proceeded to get right down to business not even offering a sideways glance when I had to step out to take a phone call from the hospital, doing all this without ever rushing us or expressing anything but kindness and understanding! They had already placed a temp tag on the truck, parked it under the circle drive carport, and had even placed a red ribbon on the hood of it! While we shook hands and shared laughs, they assured us this would be an efficient process, and within FIFTEEN MINUTES, we had things signed and sealed!
This entire process was the MOST ENJOYABLE vehicle-buying experience I/we have EVER had! Jared and TJ were so friendly, even inquiring about our daughter whom I had shared with them had been hospitalized for 1.5 months which is why I had stressed to him the day prior was the reason we needed this to go swiftly, so we could get there, buy the truck, and get back home for visiting hours at 7 pm. We were literally in and out of the dealership with food/restaurant recommendations on where to find gluten free food options (my need) with our new-to-us Tacoma within 30 minutes total despite all my chatting and al the had-to-have photo opps of us with the truck, with TJ, AND, of course, with ME INSISTING we HAD TO jump on the back of their decorated Colonel Rock Dawgs to take pictures before I'd leave! They were happy to oblige me, so we now own our personal memories of this fabulous college town AND a CLEAN, LOW-MILEAGE Toyota...along with a relationship with OUR new hometown Toyota dealer!
God, Woodrum Automotive, TJ, Jared, Macomb, and Colonel Rock all helped paint us happy today which was no small feat considering our child's situation, the loss of a vehicle the same week of her hospitalization, the news I received last Friday regarding my school-district's decision to discontinue my grant-funded educational job, as well as COVID and 2 life-threatening hospitalizations of my spouse's 82 year old father in the last month and a half which all left us reeling for the last few months!

Noah is the guy you want to talk to - he was super knowledgeable about all of the trucks they had on the lot and I ended up going with the Tundra. Already put 3000 miles on it in about 20 days and can say its the best feeling vehicle I've driven. Happy I had Noahs help picking something out

I've been trying to buy a new Toyota Prius for the past 4 years. At each St. Louis area dealership, I was told that supplies were limited & you must put down a deposit and wait about 4-6 months or longer to get one; in Sept. 2023 I did put down a deposit for a 2024 LE; unfortunately, in Jan. '24 my 2008 Prius, with 186,100+ miles died--"fortunately" it was only the 12V Battery and not the original Hybrid Battery, which I still had. Still no 2024 Prius' in St. Louis. Via Edmonds, I was referred to Woodrum Toyota of Macomb, IL--they had three 2024 XLE Prius' in stock--I called, negotiated a deal, and drove there to buy my car. Unlike many dealers, there was no pressure & I truly paid just sticker price for my new car. The Woodrum Team was just the best--from my salesperson, Rich, to his boss, Jared, to the financial fellow, Michael, they all went the extra mile to help me and treated me like they had known me forever. Woodrum Toyota provided the BEST customer service I've ever had at a car dealer and it was well worth the 3-hour drive from St. Louis, MO to get my new car. Thank U Woodrum!
