I have had verizon for over a decade. Today (9-6-23) I went in to the machesney park verizon store to see a new phone i was interested in to upgrade my old phone. The female sales associate was way less than friendly and was a (close) talker. I was going to purchase a new $2,000 phone, but she was so rude to me that I may quit verizon completely. If you want verizon, you should pick another store and just stay away from this one. Rude people do not get my money or business. Hey verizon, screen your sales people better because it's costing you money and sales.

Cannot believe I am writing a favorable Verizon Store review. But I am. Hate shopping at iPhone stores with a passion. Will not go into the long list of what I find objectionable; it's long and I would rant. Prepared for this visit online. Requested an apptmt. Described the issue. Gave as much info as I could. Showed up early for apptmt to check in. Only one person ahead of me. Minimal wait time. Hardly any bother. Friendly staff inquired about issue, checked things out, described the two options and what they would entail. Decided to try a local repair option -- Ubreak-Ifix -- with whom Verizon apparently has an arrangement. Only two blocks away. They had an apptmt right then. Service covered under warranty. Ok. Whole situation did not involve high pressure sales tactics, excessive wait time, crowds, tons of technology I don't care about. Simple, fast, effective. Went to the recommended repair shop. They fixed the iPhone immediately. Could take it right home. Good as the day I purchased it! Unfathomable. A pleasurable Verizon Store experience with an efficient and effective outcome. All respect, Verizon. Well done.

I would never go to this store if you are looking to switch your lines over to this provider because the process to do that was all set up wrong due to the employees and manager not knowing what the heck they are doing . We had to stop into the Machesney Park store (3 DIFFERENT times) and then having to actually call Verizon customer service and STILL OUR PHONES ARE NOT WORKING(( who we have been on the phone with for 3 hours today- 3/23/2023 - what is insane to us is after all these hours spent ; there's still no resolution to why our phones aren't working !!! )) then we realize an entirely separate fiasco involving our iPads which we got with the two lines/phones that are incorrectly set up and didn't link the correct #s to the devices . I don't know where or why there are all these disconnects / excuses BUT something has got to change because this is absolutely ridiculous and should not be this difficult to simply switch our existing #'s Verizon as our new service provider !!!! I won't ever recommend using this store in MP and am warning you. Another unbelievable lie , the employees at this store told my husband they would credit and waive activations fees etc for all the time and inconveniences which never happened. - Do not , do not go through this store . Todays day 10 and our phones are still not working even though the customer service line said they would by 8pm last night.

I would like to start off I've been with Verizon since 1998 and loyal customer. Verizon customer service has tanked in the last few year. Every time you call we have a larger then normal call volume. It been like this for 6 months hire people. They messed up on my account and blamed me. The last straw was when management gave me my account number and told me just go somewhere else I don't want to deal with you anymore. This is the new Verizon people. They no longer care for loyal customers that's why we no longer get deals unless we add line. New customers get every deal you can think of. Now they want to give you less for your trade in. I ready want to know where they go next. You have to check your bill because every month it changes.

I have been a Verizon Wireless Customer for over 20 years. The customer service at this location is something to be desired. I am in need of an upgrade so I stopped on 12/31/19 to do some smart phone comparisons. The sign on the door said the store opened at 10:00 am. It was 10:05 and there were 4-5 people standing at the front door waiting for someone inside to open the doors. After about 15 minutes, an employee posted a handwritten sign on the front of the window stating " Due to the Holiday, store will open at 11:00 today." Really????? I have no problem opening later on a holiday, but it should be posted prior to the holiday and even noted on their website. Everyone waiting to entry was extremely disappointed.

I'm a longtime VERIZON customer. My issue is that my phone had to be constantly charged. Called this store, (where I bought my first VERIZON phone almost 10 years ago). I explained the problem and asked for a quote on battery replacement. The associate said they don't sell, replace or install batteries, as it takes special tools to open the case to access the battery compartment. Additionally, I could get a new phone today, since my phone was "technically unrepairaible". (A new phone, as advertised on TV, would be between $1,000 to $1,200!! That was a "No Go" for me!) Further he said, if I didn't want a new phone, I should go to an Apple store to have the work done. Well, I was not going to travel to the nearest Apple store, in Madison, Wisconsin, to buy a battery. So, I went to UBREAKIFIX, an electronics repair store, less than a quarter mile west of the VeriZon location. Previously, I had patronized UBREAKIFIX for a different product issue. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes with my battery replacement, and there was no "up sell"! It cost me just pennies over a total of $61.00, which included the battery, replacement labor, testing and cleaning of the phone! A HUGE SAVINGS! AND...the phone now works perfectly!! VERIZON of MACHESNEY PARK, for your unnecessary dishonesty (telling me the phone was unrepairable) and implied "up selling", you buttheads are dead to me!! So, current and potential VERIZON customers, BEWARE OF THE MANAGEMENT AND STAFF AT THE MACHESNEY PARK LOCATION!!! **RESPONSE TO VERIZON CUSTOMER SERVICE COMMENT: Your response to my complaint is so self-serving that it is insulting. You have a systemic problem that needs immediate attention. This wasn't my first time encountering problems at your store. Continuing these approaches at your location will likely lose customers over time! Serious remedial counseling and retraining of store management, sales staff and technicians is needed to correct these problems of dishonesty and the questionable business practices of "steering" customers with implied "up selling", by discouraging less profitable repair work in favor of selling a new phone and contract. Honestly address customer's questions/problems by helping them solve their issues and you will generate their repeat business and loyalty. Compromising honesty and integrity is a recipe for losing business. By continuing with this approach, your business will reap the rewards of a poor reputation in the community, as well as, losing current customers loyalty, trust and future business. Try building your business with honesty and integrity, not just relying on population growth. By doing this you will build a thriving business that reduces employee turnover cost and retains customers while outperforming your competitors, thus generating increased profits.

Excellent service provided by associates Shaw and Blair. Both very friendly, and technically knowledgeable about my cell phone issues. The entire associate crew seems to be very friendly and has their technical act together. Good job.

I called Verizon customer service to cancel my service and return my phone. I was assured that I could return the phone in store and would have no extra charges on my final bill as long as they received the phone. The employees at this store refused to take the phone and insisted that I would be required to pay the remainder of the phone off no matter what. I left and got it handled through customer service over the phone. There is a huge disconnect between the stores and corporate. Don't even bother making the trip there, they are useless.

Store is clean, yes. Knowledgable staff? No. Not the guy I got. I am moving and want my phone turned off and contract has already ended so there should be no problem disconnecting the phone. Not the case. If you are there to sign up a brand-new contract you're going to have a lot of help and a lot of friendly staff and everyone is nice. Now just try and have your phone turned off and the contract ended the two years have gone by it's over now. So I spent 30 minutes telling the guy to turn the phone off and send me my final bill. and he did not do it. So four days later I go back and tell them to turn the phone off. The guy told me he could not do it it was already off then I asked him why does my sons phone ring when it is called. He told me he didn't know. So I came home and I called Verizon in Georgia. That lady had a problem to turn the phone off. I told her I want the phone off and I want my final bill she told me the final bill ends 20 November and I said no I want the phone off now. It took 30 minutes telling her to turn the phone off and stop the charges so they must be under the same person who trains them at their place of business. They don't want you to stop your phone. I told him we were leaving out of town were gone. So if you're starting the Verizon it's a wonderful place they're really nice. If you want your phone off and stop the billing because you're moving you're going to have a hard time I don't know why. Changed to three stars just because someone said they were sorry So ok Got my bill and it was fixed just fine

I am primarily a kindergarten teacher, but in my spare time (spare time - hah!) I do video production for GlobalDance.tv. I visited this Verizon store with my friends/GDTV boss to upgrade the mifis we use for broadcasting and my boss's personal phone. My boss called Verizon before we left and confirmed that we were to receive the upgrades free. When we arrived at the store, the employees at first told us that we could not get the updates free. When pressed, they admitted that we could get them free online, but not in the store. We informed them we would just do it online and headed for the door and suddenly they were able to do the transaction in the store. Hmmm... The employee who helped us was somewhat knowledgeable about the phones and helped us process everything and the store was clean and the merchandise nicely displayed. No big WOW, but they got he job done.
