Shoutout to Danielle at the Lyons, IL Post Office for going above and beyond! My package was lost in the mail for over a month and kept getting circulated through Chicago, Fox Valley, and Lyons post office. It's final destination was supposed to be Pennsylvania! I called the Lyons Post Office and Danielle was able to retrieve the package and identify that the scan bar/bar code must have had an error, as the address was correct on the label. She replaced the labelling and reshipped the package to me. Thank you for going the extra step to help a customer out!

I got a PO Box because I moved out of the area and I work late. I was told it was open 24 hours! I'm an hour away and I've gone three times and it's been closed. My PO Box is way too expensive for this nonsense! They can't even bother putting up a sign to let us know the new hours! Then then when you call it's a nightmare!!!!

Well today I came in to obtain a passport.The young gentleman took care of me in a quick and swift manner.Totally great I did not make an appointment because my work schedule is crazy he got it done for me and I appreciate the effort. THANK YOU!!!

I often go out of my way to use this post office instead of the post office nearest me. Every employee has been incredibly friendly, patient and helpful, and I have had nothing but good experiences here.

Arrived at the Lyons Post Office about 10:45 there was another person waiting. After a minutes or so I asked if he was waited on and he said no.Then a worker comes out and says just a minute I’ll get someone10 minutes later (not counting the time the man in front of me was waiting) and then he left tired of waitingA person comes slowly walking outCan I help you? Yes need postage for this oversized envelopeAre you paying cash ? YesSo now she does have her drawer set up, they open at 9 and she’s first setting up her drawerAnother 5 minutesTerrible service no sense of urgencyHire people that are willing to work

The girl at counter wanted to charge me for a package that already had the paid shipping label on it.i was being nice about it cause i know for a fact i dont have to pay, the label says priority mail lol she didn't even apologize for being d**** Oh well anything to look cool right. Also sometimes they close 30 minutes early

I'm surprised by the other reviews. I used to come in to this location at least once a month and mail a care package to my daughter when she was in college. It was a fussy transaction because they needed to weigh the box, have me answer some questions, and then they had to print out postage and stick a bunch of labels on the box. I'm sure they had better things to do, but everyone was always absolutely lovely, kind, and patient.It's a small post office and it serves a small community. They don't have tons of staff hanging around waiting for people to arrive, so there will always be a line when there are two or more people needing something. Don't forget that the person on the other side of the counter is a human being who might be having a bad day. A little kindness can change your day and theirs!

The best place for the worst service. Counter employees are always rude and condescending. It's like they go out of their way to talk to you like garbage. Take the chips of your shoulders and start learning proper customer service and to speak to people respectfully.

If you thought the DMV had bad customer service, come stop in this post office! They'll make the DMV look like 5star service.One lady was giving me an attitude and then she said "so..what? you wanna speak to my supervisor or what?" I said sure..lets do that. Nope, big mistake! the supervisor was 5x worse and looked like she was mad before her cashier even told her a word. She had this "why are you bothering me now!?" kind of face.Long story short, I paid to ship a package from something I sold online. Instead of shipping it the address I gave, they SHIPPED IT TO ME! TO THE ADDRESS THAT SAIDS "FROM". They literally told me oh well.. we know it wasn't right but you just gotta pay again since we still shipped it and did our jobs. So.. in the end I ended up having to pay TWICE for a mistake THEY made. Never in my life have I been in a situation where the business admits fault but saids oh well..too bad.Complete garbage customer service. Even if you gotta pay a little more.. go to another post office, Fedex or UPS if you gotta ship something. Unless of course you like feeling anger and misery, then A+ this place would be sure deliver and make you like the worthless customer you are!

Please stay away from this post office in Lyons if you don’t wanna have a stressful time. The lady at the post office is so rude and have an attitude for everything, seems like she hates her job. She hardly wants to move her hands to do her job. I mean if you don’t like it why even work there. And by the way it’s only her because she don’t have no one to cover her for lunch. I waited for her to come back 20 min. After she came back she told me to step to the side and keep having other people. Not sure what was her problem, maybe because I’m Hispanic ? I never had this type of issue with other post office. Will never come back to this place again!
