“You really need to stop by Mead's a couple of times a month and make them part of your regular grocery shopping routine. There is no place in the Rockford area that treats meat better. From the perfectly juicy corned beef sandwich I had today, to the hard-to-find whole pheasant for last Christmas, this is your place. Ryan will cut your ribeye steaks just as thick as you like, and his dad practically invented seasoning. All you need after that is a cast iron skillet! The Meads have served the Rockford area for generations and have great working relationships with many businesses. Every dollar you spend here not only supports this great butcher shop, but also the local farms that supply them. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!”
“High quality meats and a few interesting sides. Great stuffed portobello mushrooms. You will pay more for the freshness and quality, but it's worth it. Really have nothing negative to say other than limited parking. If you are a meat lover and you haven't been there, you must check it out!”

“Excellent meats here! Sale on hamburger all the time is very helpful! Sides like potato salad, beans, cole slaw, etc has skyrocketed in price, however! 1# of baked beans used to be about $5. Now try $8.50, at least 6/2024. Rediculous!”

“I bought the combination meat box to take on vacation in Northern Wisconsin. It had ground beef, chicken, steaks, 2 kinds of pork chops and soo much more. The price was so reasonable and the 6 of us enjoyed every single item in the box. We would have easily spent 2 to 3 times more buying the meat up north, and the quality would not have compared to 640. Highly recommend.”
