This place has a fun selection of items. Matt is a great guy, knowledgeable and friendly. I will definitely be coming back to see what other treasures he finds.

They have lovely antiques, but I had a terrible experience with them. The biggest issue was how misleading they are. I found a pine trunk I loved and although it was a little more than I wanted to spend the description of the item and the shipping details on etsy stated free shipping. Since the item was so pricey I figured free shipping really meant they already rolled the price of shipping in with the price of the trunk. I sent them a message to find out how shipping large items worked and it took so long to get a response I was afraid it would sell before my question got answered. When they did respond it was with a vague answer that didn't really explain much. I messaged them back with more questions within 5 minutes of their first response to me and it took over 5 hours to get another response back. I ordered it before they responded back to me and turns out shipping isn't free. They said $500 for to my door shipping or $100 to the nearest freight terminal. For some reason they offered to spilt the 500 with me, but wouldn't split the 100? They hit the worst traits you could possibly find in a seller:1. Terrible communication- It felt like pulling teeth to get a response2. Misleading the customer- If in multiple places it says free shipping a seller should honor that. Don't put free shipping if you don't mean it.***I bare no ill will towards your business I just wanted people to know before buying from you. Personally I was very disappointed. I did appreciated what you did try to do(splitting the $500 shipping), but as a buyer it was a lack luster experience because I got my hopes up on an item I loved only to have them squished. I wouldn't have even bothered to message if you had included accurate shipping details and the whole experience could have been avoided. Etsy does not make you put "free shipping" I have multiple items saved on my etsy acount for more than the price of that chest that don't say free shipping and when you click on shipping details it tells you the cost. I've seen sellers with their small items having free shipping and their large items not. Clicking on your item discription is confusing, you have free shipping stated in multiple areas and then a small blurb about contacting for freight quotes on oversized pieces. My assumption for over sized would be really big hunking pieces not a chest, so like a normal person I figured the shipping details would say whether additional charges would apply to the item. Having something addtionally in shipping details that explain how shipping works for your business might behoove you. Also, I've had sellers on etsy who live in other countries get back to me faster. A lady from France messaged me back in 15 minutes.***

Scout and Forge is a Hidden Treasure of Long Grove! So many unique finds that bring back the memories of the past. Love this little shop, wish I could visit it more often.

Scout & Forge is one of the coolest vintage furnishings shops in the Chicago area. I had been looking for a farmhouse table for years. Had even priced handmade options that were coming out over $3K - yipes. Then I saw my perfect table online from their shop in Long Grove. It was the perfect shape and style, and Matt and Meghan helped figure out a way to refinish it just the way I wanted. I am so thrilled and the experience was really fun and amazing. So happy with my new table - and its something that will be in my family I hope for a long time.

I came in here during the chocolate fest. It was crowded because people were going in and out trying to stay cool and use the air conditioning. The service was great, and like i said it was so crowded that I accidentally knocked down a small succulent arrangement that was filled with small rocks that scattered everywhere. They were pretty nice about it and didn't even expect me to buy the damaged item. Great interesting items, I'd come back when it's less crowded.

Absolutely fabulous shopping / buying experience with Meg and Matt! Gorgeous store, great items. I wanted to move in, but when I asked them to adopt me, they didn't seem to think I was serious

My husband and I stopped in yesterday for the first time. What a wonderful place. I bought a beautiful bracelet - and the price was as pretty as it was. The owner said that his wife picked out the vintage jewelry. Her selections were amazing. Fabulous antiques and friendly people. We will be back soon.
