Such an amazing place with real knowledgeable people! I’ve been getting my Dell laptop computer repaired for 6 years; it’s never run faster! Dorothy and Ahmed are now repairing my laptop because I spilled a glass of milk in it!! Dorothy is awesome! She has helped me way beyond expectations. They get 10 stars! Thank you. Had an issue with my computer and brought it in. They fixed it in a day. They are super friendly, knowledgeable and very reasonable repair cost. Highly recommend and will use for any future computer needs.

This store is my go to for my family’s computer needs. Service was friendly, timely and professional. Ahmed fixed my kids gaming computer when it froze and stopped working, also helped me figure out the reason my computer was slow and acting out and saved my family a small fortune. We will definitely be back for all our computer needs in the future.

If you have a gaming computer that you built yourself, i dont recommend taking it to any regular computer repair place like this. They will not be familiar with stress testing for games or all the ways things can go wrong during the computer building process or what settings/etc. games need to function. I described how i wanted him to do stress testing for games and that he should swap parts out to see what makes a difference, which is the main reason i even brought it to a computer place, since as a first time computer builder i didnt have spare parts. He did a stress test, but i imagine it was for normal activity since he didnt learn anything from it, but games are much much more demanding than that and need other kinds of tests.
He ultimately did not even recreate the situation where my computer shuts down, which i confirmed through event viewer, so he could not have seen for himself what went wrong. He ends up updating a random driver, thinking that would be enough, and sent it back to me, but it wasnt. To be fair, he did explain that it would be a long process to figure it out and to bring it back to him if it didnt get fixed, but i could tell that he wasnt going to find the solution and i wasnt about to pay for each time he didnt find the problem after a half-way finished job.
I end up spending weeks trying to figure it out myself, and i find out its bc my fans were not set up to speed up once things started getting hot. Im quite sure he would not have figured that out bc specific fan speeds are purely a gaming computer problem and the fans were working fine otherwise. I only realized it could be that bc i realized that i never heard much noise coming from my computer even in the middle of gaming. And i had to download a program specific to the fans to fix it. I cant imagine anyone who is not specifically familiar with gaming pcs would ever have any experience with that because pre-built computers would never have that problem.
Ultimately, do every possible thing you can to fix your problem yourself and from online like reddit, and if you really still cant do it, then take your gaming computer, especially if its custom built, to someone who is explicitly familiar with everything to do with games and gaming computers, cause this guy is not familiar with them at all. But if you have a normal computer or laptop, this place is probably good for that.

I can't say enough good things about Sphinx Computer. Ahmed and Dorothy are highly knowledgeable and go above and beyond to provide their customers with superb service. I've experienced this on three separate occasions, and each time I've been extremely pleased. One example: Several months ago, I asked Ahmed to help me change from home WiFi to wired connections, in order to reduce my EMF exposure. He came out and spent about an hour inspecting my home and brainstorming solutions with me. We finally came up with a surprisingly simple system, which Ahmed set up with equipment from his store, at no extra cost. In the process, he diagnosed a computer problem that I reported and worked on it until it was solved. The total cost was very reasonable for all the work he did. To this day, my wired connections are working beautifully, and my computer is fast and smooth. It's good to know that in my neighborhood is such a friendly, reliable, and skilled team. Thank you, Ahmed and Dorothy!

I have been going to sphinx for at least the last 15 years for both buying a pc or laptop and for any upgrades/repairs I’ve needed over the years. Every time I visit, I am more impressed by not only their wealth of knowledge, but their phenomenal customer service as well. Today I couldn’t get my laptop to turn on & knew that the battery was no good but the cord wouldn’t work either. Within minutes he had it on & charging with a battery he provided. I asked what I owed him & he said no charge! I am continuously impressed. I tell anyone I know to come to this hidden gem of a company. You will not be disappointed!!

This store in amazing and the staff and owner (Ahmad) are such great and honest people. They are the most competent in town too when it comes to solving problems. I contacted and went to at least 5 other stores where they could not help retrieve data from my BitLocker corrupted tablet. One of them was kind enough to refer me to sphinx computers (most others will just turn you away and try to sell something new).Ahmed not only got the job done but really impressed me with his honest recommendation. I was going to pay him to risk breaking the tablet screen to replace the battery because I thought I had no other options. He sincerely recommended I just buy a refurbished device which would cost less!It is very uncommon to find businesses that are honest AND competent. I would highly recommend this store for all your computer needs.I can't thank you enough Ahmad and team.

Sphinx computer is a great place to take your lap top or computer.If needed they will come to you. .They will give you great service.They know what they are doing and will solve your computer problems in a short time.They are very professional and affordable. I highly recommend you try them out .You won’t be dissatisfied.I see Ahmed in Lombard and a great guy to help you out.
