A Tale of Two Shops – just one example of how great Nofsinger’s has been over the years, as Dave is always quick to consult or scan my cars even when busy, and has always been more than reasonable.
Using technology many independent shops lack, Dave diagnosed my intermittent airbag light as a failing clock spring and then determined that Hyundai had a problem with the part so I might be able to get it repaired free at a dealership. No charge from Dave.
Sure enough, I found a technical service bulletin and an extension of the warranty to 15 years. This should be the end of the story, but you can always count on dealers to make Nofsinger’s look good. I booked a service appointment at a dealership in Villa Park (also reviewed) and insisted that they have the part in stock by the time I came so I wouldn’t have to go twice.
Short version: They didn’t have the part but didn’t tell me until I’d been there 2.5 hours waiting for an oil change I’d added and an open recall (underbody treatment) I’d agreed to only because I thought I was getting it all over with at once.
On top of that, the service writer told me the job would cost $700 when the part came in. Gee, I wonder where dealers get their bad reputations? After I pushed back, he scurried off to a manager and then returned to confirm there would be no charge, but there was never anything close to an apology.
I never went back. I got the part for $27 and installed it myself literally in 20 minutes. If I’d gone back to Nofsinger’s (where they’re always patient with my DIY endeavors), I guarantee it wouldn’t have cost $700. Or $200. They can do way more than you think, and if they can’t, they admit it.

The folks at NOFSINGER’S are courteous, helpful, and knowledgeable about all types of automobiles. I also appreciate that they are honest and forthcoming, which is very important when deciding about auto repairs. If you need some autobody work, be sure to give the folks at NOFSINGER’S a call and you will be pleased that you did.

Brought my 21 yr. old Explorer in for some needed repairs and they did an excellent job as well as keeping me informed every step of the way. Some things were difficult to access but they did it and I’d recommend them to anyone needing car repairs. Reasonable prices and they itemized everything. I’ll be using them from

First visit Feb review:
Came to them to fix a problem I was having with my driver side door lock. Reasonable price and quick turnaround. Great people and excellent service as always.
Second visit June update:
Went to Nofsinger again for starting issues on a different car. They were unable to diagnose the issue not because of a lack of trying. Dave did his best to figure out what the problem was given that the symptoms were sporadic. Dave was excellent at explaining what was done and what he thought the problem was. He made it clear that they were not going to just recommend fixes based on guesses. He also didn't charge me for the troubleshooting he did. Best shop with the best guys around.

Dave and team are the best mechanics I’ve worked with. Superior work at a fair price. We use them exclusively, from everything from oil changes to engine repairs. They are so good that I have family drive from Gurnee, IL to have their car serviced by Dave and crew.
I drop my car off. They diagnose the issue and call me with an update. I pick up my car and it runs perfectly. I’ve never had a call back. The job is done right the first time. And, they don’t sell me on unnecessary repairs.

These guys are amazing! I called because my car wouldn't start and figured I needed a tow. Dave tried to help me start the car over the phone and saved some dough. I ended up needing a tow and called to schedule a pickup. They came out, looked at the car, and helped me on the spot. I recommend these guys to anyone and will only bring my business to them from here on out.
