I have spent THOUSANDS of dollars on my dogs at other vets to no avail. Shaughnessy took my concerns seriously, paired me with the right doctor for my dogs, and has completely turned their health around. This is the most incredible vet I’ve ever been to from facility, to employee attitudes, to actually caring for my dogs and wanting them to be better. Thank you for everything you do!

As soon as I moved to Lombard from the city I went looking for a new vet. I didn’t have to look long or hard before I stumbled upon this gem. From the very first day I can honestly say that my dog and I have been treated as nothing less than family here. The warmth and care the doctors and staff provide is truly unmatched. They fit you in whenever they can and they truly cater to their clients. I want to give a huge shout out to Dr Britton - she’s so sweet and so kind and works with you and cares about your budget. Also a special shout out to Grace and Liz in PT - they will always have such a special place in my heart for the way they treat my dog as if she is their own. I highly recommend LVH- they truly care about your pet, they give you options in terms of treatment and cost and they are there whenever you need them. Their new facility is beautiful. They have a great physical therapy program. Super flexible hours. Marli and I will be life long clients for sure!

After 11 years of forgiving them and sticking around for one vet I can no longer justify it. Over those 11 years we have had numerous issues including one of my pitties being judged for her breed, staff and even a vet judging my character and my decisions about my babies, countless communication issues from messages not being relayed to finally being told they could continue the prescription allergy medications he was prescribed by a dermatologist from ISU and being told, once he was out of said medications, that they do not actually stock the medications. My buddy has struggled with severe allergies his entire life, he has visited this place at least once a year because of his allergies and I told them when I called to follow up on the request that he would have the last of the medications the following day. The response I received was that they were busy with the move but both doctors would be in and they would leave another message for them. My buddy went two days without medications that take weeks to work at full strength when they are first started. I ultimately had the medicines overnighted from ISU. I would rather drive the 5 hours to ISU's animal hospital than ever have to deal with this place again. Do not risk it.

This vet is freaking AMAZING!!! They are always on top of their game and always willing to help with my little fur babies. I had an emergency and they took me in when normally they don’t take in emergency visits. The staff is amazing and are super helpful and informative!

Excellent veterinary practice! I just got back from our first visit at their brand new building and it is fantastic! No less than this wonderful group of people deserve. Would not dream of taking my fur babes anywhere else.

EDIT: Removing 2 stars due to the fact that this vet does NOT help you with your pets microchips. They do not check they are updated and they will not update them for you. We almost lost our dog because her microchip was out of date, and this vet was no help. I would only use this vet at your own risk. They are not in business to help your pets. They are in it for the money, and you are on your own beyond having the vet give your pets some shots a few times a year.
We have 1 dog and 2 cats, and have been bringing them to Lombard Vet for 5 years now.

Each animal is treated well and as an individual. My cats have seen Dr Gay multiple times, and saw Dr F once. They are caring and it's obvious that they love animals.

The important this about this place, they're really good with big dogs. I have a 100 pound german shepherd puppy (working line) who gets stressed out when others handle him. This place is very good with my dog and they know how to handle my dog with care. He isn't traumatized by them so they tells me they're treating him properly in back.

Messed up my appointment time, said I could still come. Once i got there...they told me I had to wait 40 minutes with my pet in my car if I wanted to be seen. No remorse was shown. I don't take lightly to my pets being shown such little compassion.

We had to put our dog down a few weeks ago and the experience was not what I would want for anyone’s first time experience to be. The individual who did our paperwork seemed hard of hearing which caused them to repeatedly ask questions that they already had answers to (because they had written them down for themselves when we initially answered). We had to request to handle payment in advance and get the receipt emailed to us so we would not have to wait for the payment/receipt in the lobby after the emotional service. We elected for the doctor to come as soon as available rather than needing more time with her and still had to wait over half an hour (I know vet offices are very busy but we had called the night before to coordinate the time). The doctor we had was not our original doctor, but she was fantastic in her bedside manner!

For 14.5 years Lombard Veterinary Hospital helped ensure my sweet albeit mischievous Loki was in good health. Up until his last day on 8/1 they provided him with affordable and compassionate care. This silly pup had a heart murmur, colitis and such an appetite for anything shiney from shaving razors to sweater zippers but Lombard vet always knew what to do to avoid being too invasive and also making sure Loki was very comfortable. When he was diagnosed with lung cancer this year Dr Feutz and her team have been so compassionate trying to make this process as comfortable for Loki as possible. They really have been an incredible team to work with and have cared for my families pets even before I had Loki. All this to say, thank you Lombard Veterinary Hospital for all those times Loki was able to come home safe and sound but also a huge thank you for the compassionate services at our house where we had to say our final goodbye.
