Forest Park is located about an hour from Chicago. There's really nothing but trees. However, it's probably a good place for people who are tired of living in the city.A long time ago, a lawyer friend of mine told me that the city of Chicago was tiring. From my perspective, Chicago is a beautiful city for a large city, and I think it's quiet except when there are events going on.Well, I walked here for over 2 hours.Since there is nothing, it becomes nothing.Suddenly, a loud sound rang out.As I walked, wondering what it was,A woman was looking at a fallen tree and said that the tree had just been blown over by the wind.Nature is amazing.

Absolutely beautiful! My favorite place to walk about is Lake Marmo in the summer. Lots of fish and frogs to see, and if you go to that little pond after the waterfall next to it, you can search for crayfish and minnows, too. Great place for photography and to get away from it all.

Why does the membership price go up every year? They are trying to raise prices like Landlords do with rents...they want to see how many people will keep coming (same with Disney). The membership price went from $60 to $75 as 2024. Absolute joke! That's a 25% price increase to go look at some trees ?Go down the road to Herrick lake or South on Rt 53 to Green Valley. Both are free. Disgusting behavior from these people running the park to jack up prices to try and milk everyone for money. I think it's time for someone to take a hard look at this companies books. Let's see what they are spending on and how much they are paying themselves. I'm willing to bet we uncover some interesting things in the financials!

This is located very close to me. I believe it’s $17 for an adult if you’re a non member. Since these are timed entries, you have to select a time to arrive. Parking is included with admission. There is an abundance of parking spots in the main visitor center. However, some areas have limited parking when you move away from the visitor center. They had a lot of intriguing, picturesque exhibitions over the years like trolls, insects, etc. I recommend coming on a weekday to avoid the crowds on the weekend, nobody likes having people photo bomb their pictures. They have food and drinks at Gingko restaurant and cafe. The food is actually very decent with a large dining room. You can also find a maze garden and children’s garden

Went for the holiday light show and it was fantastic! Music and lights at night in the Arboretum is a fun event for dates, families, friends and groups. Hot chocolate, coffee and a few cold weather adult beverages add to the experience. Their were also a couple bonfires you could gather around to enjoy. Super friendly and courteous staff throughout the Arboretum.
