“The staff and attendees were incredibly welcoming since my first visit. People introduced themselves and made me feel comfortable.
The church has different campuses and events that connect everyone.
Highly recommend Compass Church! If you're nervous, feel free to reach out - I'd be happy to go with you!! I love meeting friends through church!”
“This is a community based church. Everyone is welcomed and made to feel at home. Friendly and the staff are great and so is the worship and youth group. A great way to get connected with others and your community. Located in Wheaton, IL outside of Chicago.”
“?I’m so grateful! God led my husband and I to this church, which makes me feel like I’m at home. The kindness and kind attitude of the brothers and sisters make people feel loved, natural and heart-warming. Every time I attend the worship service, I feel like I’m at home. Feel peace and joy! The ambient light is comfortable, and the pastor's preaching style is very personal and life-like.Wheaton Chinese Evangelistic Association is also the church with the largest number of Chinese people in the suburbs. I like it very much!I hope everyone knows the Lord Jesus!”
“I love this church! I've been attending there since late 1979! I love the sermons!I Feel like i'm always challenged. I don't go there just to get a pat on the head. Wonderful people and programs.”
“This is a small, but loving church family that preaches and lives the gospel of Christ in community. Leaving them was by far the hardest part of moving away from the Naperville area and we miss them so much!”
“Dan Painter, a gifted pastor who brings biblically based messages to all. Mission focused with an attitude of "Go and Grow". A growing body of believers and searchers for a profound relationship with the risen Lord. What a joy to be in this place of worship!”
“St. John Lutheran Church is a bastion of orthodoxy and confessionalism in the Lutheran Church. To my knowledge, this is the only Missouri Synod parish that offers daily Mass. Receiving the Lord's gifts is the best way to begin the day, and the beauty of High Mass here is matched by few in the LCMS. The community here is wholly oriented around the Great Commandment of Matthew 22: "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. . . . Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself" (vv. 37, 39). This is truly a parish, pastors and laity alike, that cares about your soul.”
“We have belonged to CBS for over 40 years. It is the most welcoming and caring synagogue that we have ever experienced. All are welcome no matter their background. It is a place of nurturing in ever way: spiritually, socially and personally. We are a family. Whatever you give in time and/or money will be returned exponentially.”
“RCC is a non-denominational church that meets Sundays at 9:30 AM at Washington Jr. High School. They have a Ministry Center at 710 E. Ogden Ave. #300 that serves as their office and for various gatherings like youth group.RCC is welcoming and embraces you at your comfort level. It's refreshing to be welcomed to a community and people actually come up to you, say hello, and genuinely want to get to know you. The worship service is held in-person and can be viewed on their YouTube live stream. If you come in person, they serve coffee and some light snacks which is great! There are Sunday school classes for children, and they post the teaching content on YouTube and it's also accessible in a parent app!The size of this church is not overwhelming, and it's inspiring to see how they serve the community in outreach and the people that attend their weekly service. There are many families, children, youth, and young adults making it easy to find people at your life stage.”
“A truly fabulous church home. Everyone is like family. Pastor Kelly is a godsend whose heart it truly focused on teaching the full truth of God's Word and teaching us to faithfully love and follow God. He's also terrific at guiding us through the difficult passages. This church has small groups, a large ministry for kids up through high school. Young adult and senior's groups are here too. There is a terrific community outreach program, plus so much more. This is the best church in the Glen Ellyn area! Come visit us.”
“Amazing leadership and community. I could not recommend it more to anyone looking for a place to grow spiritually and develop lasting and meaningful connections and friendships.”
“Nice non political, stick to the church part of church place. God is most important here, not agendas and indoctrination. Come here to a grear community of amazing people.”
“Came from out of town - both my sister and I are Presbyterian (me EPC, her OPC) and wanted our family to try a Presbyterian church! We loved the service. People were kind, sanctuary was distraction free and comfortable. The teaching was sound, convicting and encouraging. The music is fantastic with carefully selected, theologically edifying lyrics. They are Presbyterian, so show up on time - they start on the dot. I was surprised at how contemporary the service is though; if you are looking for a heavily liturgical church, at least the Sunday we were there it was pretty liturgy-free. Great church! I hope to go back someday when I’m in town!”
“If you’re looking for a Spirit-led, Bible-based, open arms kind of church (and why wouldn’t you be?!), check out this church plant(?). It’s of course part of a larger NFC network, but seemed focused on being a blessing to the Villa Park community. It’s meeting in the basement of another church so if you’re looking for deluxe accommodations, this isn’t it. But if you’re looking for “salt of the Earth” kind of people, this is a church to check out.”
“Friendly & welcoming church :) We visited from out of town and felt at home with everyone we talked with. Thank you for a great worship service & message!”
“This is a very welcoming Orthodox parish, with all services in English. Very spiritually nourishing. When I discovered it, I never left, have been a member of it for over 10 years.”
“Fr. Tom Bortheroyd used money solely dedicated for the chapel use, then used some of that money for the roof, tried to hide that he did that, and tried to justify it by saying the chapel didn't warrant the money because there wasn't enough people going there, while also trying to stop people from going there. The church is probably better off since his death, I wish this person that I received my first communion from eternal peace”
“I have been attending College Church since I was quite literally a child. It has been my home church for my entire life. From Sunday school to the college group, to where I am now as an adult and formally becoming a member last year, this is a place that is full of people who are on fire for Christ.Pastor Josh Moody always delivers on his sermons, integrating current events with his messages and Scripture, all while keeping the focus on God, Jesus and the Bible. The staff there are always friendly and attentive, and the ministry programs both at home and abroad are dedicated to living out Jesus's teachings no matter what.If you ever have any doubts about finding a place where you will be welcomed with open arms and can find a sure footing to own your faith and develop your relationship with God, take it from someone who can speak first hand to all the good College Church has done in my life, and the lives of my family.”
“I attended this church in 2002 soon after my family came to America and found this yellow box. The style was very contemporary and many things what conventional churches should learn !Rarely if I have a chance to drive by here, I see myself crying in the sanctuary because I didn't know what to do for my divorce. Also I remember a person touching his or her hand on me when I was sobbing !I felt someone's sincere concern & could imagine that the person would pray for my agony to be treated by God !After I stopped sobbing, I could see a young couple and the husband had prayed on my back !Appreciated to them and a year or two, I met a woman who looked like the wife of the couple ! I asked her and she said ahe thinks she was the wife of the couple !I said that I wanted to meet her to express my deep appreciation !I wish the more Christians can put their hands onto other immigrants who are not White Caucasians !!! ?”
“I visited this place 2 Sundays in a month for Hindi classes at Hindu vidhyalaya. Nice place for kids and adults to learn new things such as language, arts, etc. Especially Chicago winters are cold, people stay at home and kids get bored; this is the place to be in for kids. There are classes which run from 8am to 1pm, every hour session is different.Kids and parents will learn.”
