January 2024 by Greg D.
The service and repairs to me and my Toyota at "Toyota of Lincolnwood" that I received on January 2, 2024 is best described as a "FAILURE OF SERVICE" andMy Toyota after I paid well over [$1000 +] One Thousand Dollars for a water pump which they said was the problem, however was not even connected to the original battery issue of why I bought the Toyota vehicle in from their 'Toyota of Lincolnwood' line of motor vehicles, the Toyota vehicle of mine they said was repaired Broke Down on Howard Street and Skokie Blvd, which is less then (4) Four blocks away. The Toyota that I paid for repair broke down less then (4) four blocks away and less then [5] five minutes away. FACT. TRUTH. They Failed. Called, the super nearby, Toyota of Lincolnwood, from my broken vehicle and I that are stranded in the middle of the street during rush hour (late afternoon on 1/2/24. They said they would come over and handle the situation and help, not to worry. That was not what happened. What happened was a continued "FAILURE OF SERVICE". The continued "FAILURE OF SERVICE", was that they had an employee who was told by "Toyota of Lincolnwood" that all my vehicle needed was a battery charge and drive over to my vehicle and give it a charge. What was told to 'Toyota of Lincolnwood' employee was not the case nor the truth. The employee of 'Toyota of Lincolnwood' said, ".... your vehicle does not need a charge?......, ? Well Can you call your tow car service?" Meanwhile, Rushhour in the middle of traffic, my Toyota broke down and I are getting worst language by people rolling their window down in the bitter cold to swear profanities at me. Also, the 'Toyota of Lincolnwood' employee did not put on his hazards, which caused not just allot, but (25) twenty five minutes of drivers during rush hour on a major 'arterial' to pull behind the 'Toyota of Lincolnwood' employee personal motor vehicle or 'Toyota of Lincolnwood' company motor vehicle to cause a dramatic traffic back up. A Back up so bad that a undergraduate transportation engineer or a "Dwight D Eisenhower Transportation Engineering Fellowship Award Winner" (Note: ,Which I am), would call a "LOS E", Level of Service E perpetual situation. I could go on. However, what I will do is Copy this truthful review, in case 'Toyota of Lincolnwood' lobbies to have this truthful statement removed.

For the next guy-Car advertised at X dollars. Small print says "*Prices listed excludes tax, title, license and $347.26 dealer doc fee." Ok, typical here in IL, add prob 10.25% tax for Cook. What's not typical, is they don't tell you anywhere about the mandatory XZILON $2,595 and 3 Year Lojack $1,595 surcharges they say are attached with every car. I assume there's tax on that amount too, so tack another $429.48 on the total. Those traveling far, thinking they're going to get the advertised price, don't bother, I didn't on either of the cars I was interested in. Charge was applied to both new and used stock I had quoted. OTD amounted to 24.17% over the advertised price (including local tax). It's down right deceitful, and save yourself the aggravation.

If you looked up used car salesman in the dictionary this place would come up. Sold me a "clean car" as in no accidents. Just found out through my insurance that in fact the car had been in a previous accident. I called them to ask about it and even gave them a week to get back to me because of the holidays. A week later, no call or explanation.AVOID THIS PLACE. THEY ARE SCAMMERS AND ONCE YOU SIGN THE PAPERS THEY WILL IGNORE YOU. THEY ARE TOTAL SCUMBAGS. PLEASE READ THE OTHER REVIEWS. THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT.

Website offering $1700 dealer discount but when you go into the dealer, they jacks up the price by trying to charge car coating and Lojack of $5,000. Bait tactics.

I purchased a used Honda Insight here in October. When I took the car to my mechanic, he said it needed $1500 worth of basic maintenance - spark plugs, filters, the list goes on and doesn't even include the feathered tires. Seriously? The Carfax said they had serviced the car. When I picked up the car the Empty light was on. The excessive communication I received before I bought the car was non-existent after the sale. Emails sent to my salesperson, and then the customer service manager, were ignored. I would give 0 stars if I could. Used car buyers beware!

This Sienna is my first Toyota vehicle and I've had it for almost 1,000 days now and I bought it at this same dealership.I was annoyed when the salesman repeatedly lied to me but I've yet to meet a car salesman that didn't.I was annoyed when I brought it back for the first oil change and pointed out that the rear brake light flickered when you tapped it and generally didn't work and they told me the fault was with the trailer hitch I had installed (which they said they would install when I first bought it but... surprise, they lied). I even asked him to double check to make sure it wasn't the bulb or the housing, which Rack Attack already assured me it was because they never touched that housing and even if they did do something with the wires elsewhere tapping on the housing wouldn't cause it to turn on and off. But Toyota was 110% certain that it was not the bulb nor the housing. Their exact words. Back at Rack Attack, they swapped out the $2 bulb for me and everything was perfect. It was just a faulty bulb. When I found myself with a screw embedded in the middle of my tread in my fairly new run flat tire, I called them to see if they would repair it. I had already done my research and I knew it was repairable according to Bridgestone since it never went below 20 PSI and the screw was nowhere near the edge. Toyota told me that their policy is not to repair them but to sell me a new one. Instead I called around to find a reputable tire shop that was willing to repair it, and it has been fine ever since.I learned that it does not take them an hour and a half to do an oil change. I never really thought it did. But they repeatedly told me it would and I did not have much choice the first couple of times but to wait over 90 minutes. The next time, I was the very first one in line in the morning and they were done 30 minutes later, even after they assured me when I got there before anyone else, that it would take 90 minutes. I'm guessing that this is their standard quote because appointments are not ranked any higher than walk ins. So be prepared to wait for the walk ins who arrived just before you to be finished first.I just now had an oil change and alignment and 2 hours later, they told me I needed new brake pads because mine were under 3 mm. I was suspicious because I have under 30,000 mi on it, but because it's all city driving stop and go, I thought they were maybe right. But I did ask for the original pads back. Four hours after I arrived, I drove home from this dealership and cleaned them up and measure them with my caliper and not one of the eight pads were less than 4 mm anywhere on the pad and most were at 5 mm and their own paperwork said 4.5mm. The representative flat out lied to me.The one truth seems to be that most dealerships lie in order to make more money, in sales and repair and this place is no different.I think I need to spend the time finding a honest mechanic near my home, but who has that kind of time. But at least I feel comfortable that they are actually making the repair they say they are doing and doing it correctly, even if it is far far far more costly than necessary.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I bought my Corolla 2022 here and since then I’ve done ok the services here. In the past three services I had bad experiences. My last one yesterday almost cost me the engine or the whole car. After the service I went home hearing a loud sound from the front of the car. After checking the engine I see that there is no coolant in the reservoir, none. I had to go back the next day again to have it fixed. One block before arriving to the place, I see an alert in my screen seeing that I should stop in a safe place because the coolant temp was too high.Manager said there was a bubble in the coolant system and that it was blocking the pass to the reservoir. They fixed and I went home.Later on, I’ve checked the internet and it is not a rare thing to happen if a normal person does the change. But it is not something that should happen in a service with all the technology they have. It is something that happens if you change the coolant fluids in a haste and with no equipment (I paid to have that done because they said it was due). So, now I don’t know if I’ll ever go back there for a service if I have to check myself the car before going driving away. It doesn’t give me any peace of mind going to the dealership to do my services.

I was running late, I couldn't be at my appoibtment when I said I could, but Lincolnwood Toyota and the friendly staff there helped managed my call very fairly. I appreciate all the help I've received and the impressive efficiency y'all show for customer service. Waiting room has television, and plenty of theater seating. Theres a clean washroom, and plenty of snacks and everything to help you get through the wait. Although I didn't wait long, I enjoyed some free coffee and bottled water. There is a nice privacy area with cubicles against the wall, for those that bring their lap top computer or wish to do other things at a desk.

****AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP AT ALL COSTS****Read thoroughly because this is actually insane About a year ago I came to test drive a Mercedes c63s they had on their lot. After spending lots of time talking to the staff over the phone, I decided I was ready to purchase the vehicle. Upon arriving I noticed multiple bullet holes in the rear end of the vehicle that were not disclosed to me over the phone or in the listing itself. After asking them about it, they acted like they never noticed it and denied it being a bullet hole in the first place even though it was more than obvious. Wasted hours of my time, but I let it go. Fast forward to today, I scheduled an appointment hours ahead of time to test drive and buy the 2019 bmw m850 they have on the lot. After spending an hour driving there, I was informed that the finance manager had been driving the car for the past week and I'd have to wait 30+ minutes until he brought it back. Given the fact that the appointment was scheduled ahead of time, they had more than enough notice to bring the car back to the lot prior to my arrival. Shows how sloppy and unprofessional the staff are over at this location. If you want more than a half decent car, I'd suggest skipping this location and taking your business literally anywhere else. Given the obnoxious amount of negative reviews this dealer has in the first place, I'm clearly not the only one with a bad experience. I've seen bad dealers before but this is definitely the worst.

I brought my 2003 Camry to change the oil and tire rotation on 05/19/23. Asked if the coupon can be applied. The advisor became rude and said no. I asked to get my car back so I can go to Bredermann. Advisor refused and agreed with coupon price. But then they put synthetic oil instead of asked conventional I put last 20 years. The price became different than I agreed. The advisor has no customer skills at all. The manager tried to resolve the situation, but I doubt I will go back to this place and recommend it. I never expected this attitude for 20 year customer who bought and maintain the car in this dealership. After the service I have started experience the issue with steering. I talked to online helper, was promised that manager call me back. Nobody called me.Services: Tire rotations

Set up an appointment online to view a BMW M850i this morning at 10am drive a few hours on a holiday weekend to go and possibly purchase the vehicle and it's not even at the dealership. It's out getting work down at BMW dealership for the past few days. What a big waste of time. Never will go back. Don't waste your time. They didn't even try and compensate me in any way.
