Staff are all friendly and knowledgeable about their inventory. Once they get to know you and what you like/are looking for, they'll recommend new products. It's a good store for disposables. They have glassware, batteries, and other inventory, too. There's a parking lot in front.

This is my go to place for vape accessories and juices. I used to travel a few miles to get my vape juices but when I heard of this place I gave it a try. Guys there are always nice and hook me up sometimes with a discount. They might not have the filter for my mod but they order it for me. Def place to check it out for all vape needs.

If you want to be treated subhuman and like an object or piece of meat, this is the place to go! It's a family owned store so it's clearly a problem with how they're raised...Spent over $500 here on a premium vaporizer (name not given, but I'm sure people know the one; it erupts like a mountain). The attendant, his name started with a J, at first was polite. He drove the unit from Chicago up to this store. He gave me a first time (basically the last time) customer discount and then let me use rewards points to buy my wife pods. Tried to offer packaging, I declined. He proceeds to take the item to the back to "wrap it". Comes back with it in a brown bag and a single piece of toilet paper on the bottom of the bag. Are you trying to tell me something without actually saying it? The next few times, I went, I'd proceed to say something, they'll make me repeat myself. My wife will speak, they move faster than before, with a smile, and all of a sudden she doesn't need to repeat herself? Quality, classic sexism.I stopped going there after. My wife, on the other hand, continued to go. One time, I sat in the parking lot and watched this all happen... in one instance when she went in, two cashiers and 2-3 customers all stop what they're doing and all try to start talking to her. They found everything she said overly hilarious and tried asking her numerous personal questions to the point she felt uncomfortable and had to chuckle and smile because she didn't want to make a scene. When she got in the car, the idiot cashier undercharged her severely (she told me he asked the other guy and they couldn't remember the price... it's a juul pod, you sell dozens a day) for the entire box. She gets a discount every time (they always find some coupon for her) but I only get it the first time?Place is a joke. Laugh at it, leave, and go spend your $$ unless you like being treated like dogs, regardless of your gender.Edit: one typo due to autocorrectAs a positive, their rewards program is decent (you get points back per dollar spent) and they offer text and email ads that send you 5-20% off coupons; somehow they always tell me mine were expired, despite having no date on them.

I mean, when they're actually open they're decent. But they're never open on time and it's caused me to no longer want to go to this location. Or any other smoke depot location. They need to get their employees in check. Or maybe ya know hire people who actually want to show up to work on time???? pathetic.

What Smoke depot excels in is offering an expansive selection of glass, bong, hookah and electronic smoking devices. Any and everything associated to the enjoyment of smoking is carried and they offer many comparable brands with different pricing. Their employees are knowledgeable depending on who you get. And can offer assistance with their many products. And alike many stores these days Smoke depot is a part of a points/ app system which when joined, can alert you to deals and specials that can be earned through store buys. The depot is a part of a chain of stores located in Chicago and nearby suburbs. The stores they maintain are larger in size than common smoke shops. This location utilizes glass display counters and wall shelves to display all of their stock. To inspect or handle most items will require a conversation with staff. If you are a fan of bongs, spoons, rigs, chillums, vaporizers and the like, there is an "instrument" in every pricing category that can fill your express needs. Such is not the case at many of the random head shops which seem to be opening almost weekly, ever since marijuana was legalized in IL. If you are new to smoking dry herbs, opt to purchasing a stash box. These boxes are often decorated in popular iconic imagery of the likes of Marvel, cartoons (Rick & Morty), marijuana symbolism and more. The box might contain an herb grinder, air-proof stash jar, labels and a rolling table. Most people are used to buying these items separately which allows for individual specific selections but buying a box can save money overall and makes for an interesting gift. Not many head shops carry these and for a "newb" it offers a secure way to house your stash. (Any kind of air tight container would work as well.)Another detail regarding bongs and glass instruments. They offer all kinds and in many lengths. So whether you're keen on Gandalf smoking pipes or foot or longer sized bongs, they have dimensions to suit every type. ***These days newer head shops tend to sell only one size of bong or rig. The very small kind, say under a foot or lessor than 6". It seems like an industry shift. But the costs still range in charges similar to larger models. I dig their brand and have visited some of their sister stores as well. I enjoy that their pricing is across the board and I can always find a decent instrument in the 'right' pricing. Every shop so far has offered a wide selection. Head shops like this are often, "buyer beware" which means once you buy it and leave, it's yours to keep depending on the item type being purchased. With that said, there is some leeway for price haggling. Though joining their points system should yield you the best offerings. So far, I haven't been able to find a local, Chicago store that can offer better pricing. In any head shop; you have to know that you're buying quality. So, imagine buying a new car, kicking the wheels or checking the swing of a door. Grasp it, hold it, place it down on their counters and make sure it is without knicks, scratches, blemishes or hairline cracks. Ask many questions, it's worth your time to get knowledge regarding your purchase. Not at this shop but at one of their competitors I was sold crappy quality glass that cracked on first usage. When problems like that occur call the shop first to see if they can offer any kind of remedy. So far, all my purchases from Smoke depot have been quality. While I dig the shop and the guys, I wish they would abide by Covid-19 health guidelines better. Distancing and wearing PPE when necessary. Because of their casual demeanor with customers; both staff and customers are often not wearing masks or are loosely following guidelines. Seeing this brazen display, has often pushed me to shop elsewhere. With Covid still going on I understand they probably don't see as much foot traffic so they don't wear their masks all of the time. But from the moment a customer enters, that mask should be in hand and wrapping around your nose and mouth.
