Had another outstanding dinner at this gem. I guess there is a winery in the back now called Lago Cellars. Wine was all local grapes and was really good. worth a try!

Friendly and helpful staff make this my go-to wine shop. Looking for an inexpensive table wine or something for a special occasion they've got you covered. A small high quality selection of beer and spirits rounds out their shelves. Regular tasting events are a lot of fun!

A hidden gem that needs to be visited. You can travel the globe with the wines that are offered, and Karl will give you a story about them all. From the minute you walk in you get the "Wine Shop" vibe. It's not overwhelming with just right amount of selections. There are also respectable selections of Spirits and quality Beers that shouldn't be overlooked. You can also pickup some tasty side snacks to accompany your beverage of choice.
Worth stopping in to just browse and possibly learn about what might be your next favorite wine.

Karl is knowledgeable and carries many unique small wineries, from Europe and around the world. He excels in Spanish (not well known in the US), Portuguese, and Italian Wines. Buy local from a person who understands wine, not mass market stores.

Wine shops like this are the best!!! Reminds me of the many shops I've visited during my European travels. It has a warm, intimate feel, a friendly, approachable owner and an exciting collection of unique, interesting and accessible wines. The experience is like taking a virtual vacation through Karl's wine selections!

We are new to the area but ever since we found his store, we keep coming back for his charm and the quality of wines. The owner, Karl is amazing! His depth of knowledge from past experiences in the industry is amazing. Moreover, he brings love and care for what he offers and his customers. His focus is unpretentious, daily consumable wines, beers, and sprits. Libertyville is a pretty, posh area but at his store, you won't break your bank even if vising here weekly. He has a monthly wine tasting event where you find interesting mix of wines. We got to taste all six he had and bought several! Also, he offers private (8-12 people) paring event by appointment that we want to try with friends.

Karl has a very well curated selection of mostly European wines, but he also carries domestic wine, fine imported beers, spirits, and some special foods do accompany the wine. He can find something to suit your tastes at many price points. Great business.
