I have had the pleasure of visiting 847RC several times over the past month or so and I had to share what a special place the team over there have curated. When I first began my running journey in 2008 there were only proper running stores in Downtown Chicago where I could get a proper fitting for my stride. Those days are so long gone thanks to 847RC! ??♀️Now, I can simply call upon my friends down the street at 847 to help me feel my best while I pound the pavement. I know exactly where to go when I need to get fitted, vent about my tight IT bands, stock up on goo gels, and be a part of a running community that truly treats me like family every time I walk (or run ?) in the door. Not to mention, they carry all the high-performing gear brands at friendly prices for those of us who know that what you wear and how you feel on your runs make all the difference!Whether you’re just getting started on the path or are a seasoned Ultra runner, 847 has your back (and feet!). I was diagnosed with early Osteoarthritis in my knees. No shoes have helped my feet or knees until I was introduced to Saucony Guide and ASICS GT 2000!! This shoe is incredible. Nicole and Kalan told me about the drop heel and had me try them. I honestly feel like it’s a miracle. Their recommendation fit me into a shoe that has taken all the pressure off my knees. My feet haven’t been tired and I am able to stand and walk over 15,000 steps a day (says my Fitbit) . Without their willingness to find me the perfect shoe I would still feel miserable after work. Thank you for CARING!

The customer service is 847 Running company is absolutely top notch. Dustin helped my 11 yr old find the perfect shoes for her XC and later track season. We’ll absolutely be back and referring fellow runners to 847!

From out of town and came here based on Google reviews and they were spot on. The staff was fantastic. They watched me walk, looked at my current shoes and knew exactly why I wasn't happy with them. They told me what shoes would be better and why. I even got to try them out on the treadmill in store.I highly suggest going here and getting fitted!

I couldn’t recommend 847 Running Company more! I walked into the store with my partner for the first time in search of new running shoes and daily/work shoes. Nicole greeted us immediately and asked if she could be of any assistance. I took her up on her offer of a shoe fitting and foot evaluation. She assessed my gait while walking and jogging and looked at how my current, old shoes are wearing out. Her evaluation was thorough and comprehensible. Not to mention, she is extremely personable, conversational, sweet, and high energy. Nicole spent about an hour with us, making sure our concerns were addressed and that we tried on various options. Her knowledge of different shoes, their functions/features, and general foot anatomy was great. We didn’t feel pressured at all to buy at the moment as we would be at other stores. Ultimately, I ended up buying two shoes—a pair of Saucony shoes for running and a pair of Altra shoes for work—and I’m so excited to try them out! My partner ended up buying a new pair of shoes as well—Saucony, too! My partner and I felt wonderful knowing we are supporting a local business, and we will definitely be returning customers. I highly recommend 847 Running Company for their exceptional customer service (Thank you, Nicole!), shoe and apparel selection, prime location and atmosphere, and prices!

All the best brands of athletic shoes are priced the same. What makes the difference is the service you get. Look no further as this establishment has knowledgeable staff that will honestly do their best to make sure that you get the best footwear for your personal needs. Owner is very knowledgeable and honest, shop local!!

Highly recommend 847 Running Company. My husband was in need of new walking shoes and has a couple of unique fit requirements. Kal was knowledgeable, helpful, and spent a lot of time with us making sure my husband had the best shoe for his needs and activity level. His prices are reasonable and in line with the high quality of his shoes. Definitely will be back when we need shoes again.

I tend to prefer shopping at local running stores and with my experiences at 847 over the last year I have not been disappointed. I go there for shoes, socks, fuel, just about any of my routine running gear. When my “go to shoe” changed and I couldn’t find a good replacement they were extremely knowledgeable in helping me understand the different options available. TWICE in the last year, the staff has fitted me with shoes that I would not have tried out on my own or found through online reviews. Both times the shoes that I ended up in were exactly what I needed. The staff was patient and spent time helping me, which I really appreciated. This is why I choose to go into the store instead of just reading a shoe review and buying online. Very knowledgeable about local races and the running community in general.

I've been buying running shoes and geeking out at running specialty stores for more than 40 years, but have never been so impressed by anybody as Cal. If you might possibly have a structural or stress injury, and if there's any chance that shoes might might be part of the problem or part of the solution, Cal will give you great advice. What a mind -- so intuitive -- a true student (geek) of the nexus of the running body and shoes. So impressed!
