Really good quality of meat for the cuts we got that day. Just need to remember to get there quicker on a Saturday for more of a selection as there wasn't much left if you get there late :) .. Definitely worth going back to between the product and the staff 😀

We had a half a beef processed here and the cuts are AWFUL! They took beautiful strip steaks and cut them in half down the center! Now we have steaks that are about an inch and a half wide! They were all ruined! They ground the hamburger fine. Ugh. Big lesson learned!

If you live outside the county, do not have them process beef from local farmers. They mislabel, short change your order. We had used a local farmer and ordered half steer for several years. In recent years, the beef had an off taste probably from poor refrigeration during processing. Cuts labelled as T-Bone were really chuck steaks!!! My daughter in law was shortchanged on her order. Go anywhere else.

This small town meat market is a MUST visit if you are traveling to Galena via Route 20. The filets that we purchased were among the best steaks I've ever eaten. Am really looking forward to enjoying the ham that we purchased for Thanksgiving!

Ok so I officially love this place and will for sure return! It is a cute quaint shop that as soon as you walk in you get a smell of smoked meats. The inside is decorated like your mommas kitchen with cute signs with different meat related quotes. For the small area they have, it is jam packed with great fresh, and frozen meats as well as veggies. They have a cooler with different deli meats available that they will slice but the selection is sometimes limited. The staff are friendly and treat you like family never overbearing with trying to sell you something instead allowing you to really look through the selections and ask questions if you need. You most likely will even get a fun little conversation when checking out about recipes,or advice on where to go for ingredients at a local farmer, or shop. They also have some treats for the doggies in the family. I have a extremely picky dog that typically doesnt know what to do with bones, or is just not interested, or they are not to her standards I'm not sure as she is kinda dramatic. Let me tell you this place the dog bones Amazing! Both my dogs have never been so interested, excited for a dog bone! My girls love them and I love yall for that! The bones and other various treats are so fair priced and have a good amount to them. The bones come in various sizes to fit your big or little fur baby. They have a nice amount of meat left on them and they are smoked so they dont stink horribly. I dont know what y'all do to your dog bones but please I beg you dont ever change! Highly recomend and so do my girls!
