They always keep it looking clean to make sure their members are happy!”

They have a clear vision for their routines, and it shows in the consistently high quality of their classes. Not to say that their classes are all identical - each presents a unique configuration of strength work and treadmill intervals. Rather, every workout can be relied upon to challenge you meaningfully. I’m very experienced in traditional strength training, but I was in a rut with standard gym workouts. Shred415 provided a great way to get out of my comfort zone and lean into my fitness *weaknesses*. Sure I can squat 3 plates, but I’m always humbled by these workouts! I would highly recommend anyone join who’s looking to break their workout status quo. My favorite instructors are Erin and Amy. Erin leads her class with spunk and energy without being cheesy and trite. Amy finds that elusive intersection of being both calm and motivating. Shred415 has been an outstanding experience, and I encourage anyone reading to give it a shot!”

That’s easy enough to say, but let me back it up.I took the leap and sent an email to them that I had never really lifted weights. I mostly did cardio exercises. Ian responded promptly and set up a phone call to discuss what goes on at their gym. The first personal training session was free so I tried it.You know that thing that you eat that you can’t put down once you try some. That’s what this was like except way more expensive. It makes you stop and think, but ultimately the question you have to ask yourself is what would you pay to be HEALTHY and HAPPY each week?Ian works with you to create a workout plan that FITS WHAT YOU WANT including workouts for days when you’re at home or your regular gym. He’s there to give you ADVICE on nutrition and eating/drinking right for your goals. It’s up to you on what you decide to do and he doesn’t care whether you take his advice or not. He’s the same regardless. Scheduling is flexible and is done personally via texts. That’s right, you have contact with Ian even when you’re not working out with him and you have normal conversations. HE'S INVESTING HIS TIME IN MAKING YOU A BETTER PERSON.From a workout perspective, there are a variety of workouts that you end up doing and they will repeat. You’re there to get progressive gains over time and the only way to do that is to repeat the workouts on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. When you hit a plateau, he’ll change it up and you’ll do different workouts for a little while. At the end of each session is a random 5 minute variety of exercises that are more intense than the rest of the workout. “The Finisher” as Ian calls them. That said, I’ve never left a workout overly sore to the point where I can’t function the next day. As you do more and more workouts and they repeat, you might ask yourself “Why do I still need to come here?” “Couldn’t I do this myself now?”IT'S NOT JUST A WORKOUT. It’s life, and that’s one of the best parts is the conversations with Ian about anything and everything. Ian has been one of the most influential people in my life. This comes from discussions about future life goals, careers, philosophical questions, book recommendations, etc. The monumental change he’s made in my life from a mental perspective is something he probably doesn’t realize and something I don't know that I can ever overstate. I don’t know that everyone can expect that, but I do know that you can expect the workout you have at i.e. Fitness to be one of the highlights of your week. As I mentioned before he’s invested his time in making you a better person and he will push you to be better. He will give you that motivation to try harder when you don’t want to or think that you can’t do something. He will push you to your limits, but not push you over them.I know what you're thinking. What about Emily? While I've never worked out with her, I've been lucky enough to be at the gym when she's working out with someone or just stopping by the gym. She's a nice person who brings an energetic atmosphere to the gym with a bubbly personality albeit terrible taste in music :). It is thanks to her I have never been more nervous to lose to a six year old kid and I'm pretty sure she's the reason Ian is so great.If you've gotten this far, my RECOMMENDATION to you is to TAKE THAT FIRST FREE SESSION and then decide for yourself what you think is the best thing for you in your life.Have an amazing day!”

“This is a family owned and operated gym, which helps to create a very unique vibe. There is a very connected, neighborhoody feel about this gym. This atmosphere, which has been cultivated by owners, staff, and area patrons, is difficult to replicate in a big-box, chain gym. Aside from the overall vibe, I like that the people at Elite are upfront with regard to their pricing. There are no guessing games. Their rates are listed on their Web site. They also offer a ten punch card so you can try out the gym before you make a commitment. Those who workout at Elite seem to be connected members of the local community. I find that the clientele is friendly, respectful, and fitness-focused. Lastly, the gym is located in a very cute area of Western Springs. There are several local businesses nearby that you can visit before or after a workout. It's also important to note that parking has never been an issue for me at Elite.”

He keeps clients / participants engaged with his tough love / comical antics. I ve worked out online with both Eric & TPThis training is definitely not for the weak but very much for the committed. As a medical professional and health enthusiast for many years, I am very cautious about whom I give my attention or even take guidance. I honestly often critique one's knowledge before engaging. “TLDR: I LOVE Shred415, the people, the efficiency of the workout, the vibe.Shred415 is a workout unlike any other to motivate me, push me harder, feel a sense of community, keep me sane and get stronger. The instructors know how to encourage the class with high energy prompts. I also did Shred when pregnant and they are super accommodating with adjustments and childcare if you’re a mom. I’ve found my marathon times to improve as a result of the hill and speed work. From a strength standpoint, I appreciate the focus on certain body parts yet always feel like I’m walking out with a true full body workout thanks to compound strength training moves. The front desk is super welcoming with a smile. The locker room set up is convenient if you’re prepping to head to work, errands, etc post class.”
