If you're willing to go on a maze to kill time, this is the place! I always find interesting stuff in this mile long store. Sometimes it's cheap sometimes it's not. Giving the fact it's open 24 hours.

I shopped in the Lakemoor Illinois location today. They had plenty of selection, fresh products and nice, knowledgeable employees. Great experience!!

A Woodman's employee in produce; medium to long brown hair, skinny, 40's or 50's, RUDE. I buy Organic produce. I was going through the Organic Broccoli, trying to find a bunch that didn't have a 3 foot diameter stem, and more than a handful of flowerets. I put EVERY, SINGLE bunch back in the bin as I was searching, and suddenly hear a women advise me that 'she just stacked that bin, and was I finished?' Really? I asked her "Are you timing me?" We're all struggling to stretch our dollar and when one is paying double sometimes 3xs the price for Organic produce, one would prefer not to pay for produce that is going to get thrown away. Further, one would appreciate not being scrutinized by someone who is basically getting paid by ME! One would think that employees at an EMPLOYEE OWNED Company would be a little more conscientious about how they treat their customers. 2 stars because they do still have a better variety of product to choose from than most other stores, but I'm pretty sure Woodman's will be put to rest in my life if anything of this sort happens again.

Seriously Woodmans self check outs are a thing of the past haven't learned anything from Walmart they are loosing tons of money but with only having three cashier open on a Tuesday night at 6;00 is just stupid on top of that the smart-ass cashier thought it funny to throw my groceries to the bagger who thought it funny to squeeze my pasta in with my chips. Reason I didn't do self check out was to save a job I don't card what people think I wasn't hired by Woodmans to be your cashier and bagger nor do I get a discount to check myself out UNLESS I'm like 90% of people and just not check out a few things to compensate for my fee to do your business's work!

I was actually surprised at how big this side of Woodmans in Lakemoor Illinois was. Very fair prices on most things, and there is a nice selection to choose from here. Impressive!

Not sure what some of these negative reviews are on about. But the woodmans in elgin is pro the best grocery store in the nw chicago burbs right now. Much better prices for the same options as other stores. My only gripe is the self checkout design can use some work. Lots of self checkout stations but im not the biggest fan of the belt line for large orders then bag at the end but i got used to it.

I got a frozen pizza from the frozen pizza section. It had no bar codes to scan it. I told the self checkout lady. She goes do you know how much it was. I go no I never looked. She tried to look it up and couldn't find anything on the pizza. I told her then I have no way to pay for it then so I told her to keep it. Please make sure your self check out people do more than not care if people have issues with not labeled correctly food.

NOTE: They ONLY accept CASH. DEBIT. DISCOVER Credit card. Your girl here was SO frustrated when she flew to the east coast with just A credit card. Was about to check out to try out YELLOW watermelon for the first time and was held back because they did not accept her ONLY source of payment. They have an ATM but obviously, this ain't the fancy ones they have in the WEST coast that let's you withdraw cash with ANY credit card. Anyways, I suggest y'all come prepared as they do have a huge selection and variety for various products!

I walked in thinking I really need to shop here more often considering the prices and variety. I walked out telling the cashier that I'll never be returning ever again and they've lost a customer for life. I had a cart full of groceries and when I went to pay discovered they only take Discover or debit. I don't have a Discover card and don't carry my debit. This kind of nonsense greatly reduces your customer base. Even Costco finally figured this out.

Stay away from WOODMAN's Car Wash! Besides waiting an insane amount waiting inline to access the wash (because their wash is so S-L-O-W!), remember to TAKE PICTURES of your vehicle immediately before (during, if possible) and afterwards. If not, good luck getting reimbursed for any damages done to your vehicle. Pictures aside, if you're not intimidated by their corporate letter of denial (filled with ridiculous reasons why they're not responsible), expect to be blamed for the damages from their huge, Chicago-based law firm. It's Woodman's way or the highway, as they will fight you every step of the way. I now use Papo's Express Car Wash in Round Lake Beach. They have a state-of-the-art car wash that uses less aggressive, SOFT CLOTH brushes which have yet to cause any damages. Because of the way I was treated by Woodman's, I now shop at Meijer (better prices + near Papo's) and buy my gas in Wisconsin (even cheaper).

Since they opened I've been coming here for the car wash. Seems they are following the standard of ALL businesses not by increasing the price but by decreasing the quality. THEY HAVE SPED UP THE CAR WASH and now your isn't clean or dry now for the past few months that I've noticed now. Very disappointing. Much better car wash north inn 12 by the Menards. Cheaper, free vacuums and closer to home. Bye bye woodmans. Now I understand why the lines are shorter.Thank you for reaching out on my review Meghan but you didn't say if you were going to fix the issue. Just that you were sorry. Yeah we are all sorry at how the economy and businesses are literally screwing everybody. At least if your going to do something with your car wash then increase the price and slow it down so the car is actually clean and dry like it used to be at your location. Getting tired of how places will be pro active on social media but when the keyboard is pushed aside it stays the same. Raise the price and slow it down. Or just close it. Hopefully this will reach thousands.
