I've been a Schwab client for many years, and my recent visit to this branch was my first time in a Schwab branch. Suffice it to say: I was woefully unimpressed (frankly, concerned), and I will not be returning to this location.I came in to deposit a few checks -- something I thought would be quick. Instead, I was there for well over an hour. First, one check scanned into their system for a different amount than was shown on the check. The customer service/front desk gal *did not* catch the discrepancy -- I did.I was told at one point that to deposit more than one check, they had to start with a sort of "dummy" deposit of $1, something I found very odd/kludgey. Nonetheless, during my hour+ at the branch, the staff was unable to provide me with a reason for the mismatch in check amounts. I was told *specifically* by the front desk gal that she would call me later to let me know the reason for the error. No one ever called me, and I honestly don't even know if the error was fixed.Then, I was told that one of my checks couldn't even be deposited due to "exceeding the limit", something I knew was wrong. I even asked, "are you sure you're putting this in as a rollover?" I was asked to come back in an hour, and I declined. I instead asked the gal to simply pop her head into the room where the branch owner had just gone into a meeting with another client (though I was there first).He came out, pointed out that she wasn't coding the check properly, and went right back to his meeting, unapologetically.I left, crossing my fingers that my money was handled properly -- something I don't think anyone should ever have to do. The most unsettling thing about my visit was that someone with (apparently?) so little training in something as basic as simple deposits was put into a customer-facing position without (at very least) the branch owner or someone else shadowing her until she was more experienced.The fact that there are only two people in this branch also concerns me. If the owner is away or in a meeting and the front desk gal can't handle an issue, you're basically stuck. If I have to visit a branch again, I'll go to Schaumburg, Northbrook, or really any other non-franchise location -- somewhere with more than two employees (and hopefully more experience).One other nit: The front desk has really nowhere to set down papers/etc. I came in with a bunch of paperwork, and I kept having to literally bend down and work on the floor due to lack of surface space. What a royal pain!PS: For what it's worth, I even commented (twice) while at the branch that my first visit left much to be desired (once with the owner standing right there), and he said nothing to me whatsoever. I'd expect more from any respectable business owner.

My husband and I made an appointment at this location in Lake Zurich and spoke with Adam Schoenwald who is the independent branch owner. I have to say not only was Adam knowledgeable on all of our questions and concerns but spent the time making us feel comfortable with our decisions and directed us in the best position for our future investments. We left feeling confident and would highly recommend Adam if you are looking for honesty and knowledge in your investments.

I came in for help to set up an account that I set up online. The manager or whomever he was, literally came in in the mist of me speaking to the lady up front, did not introduce himself or anything but I saw a flyer w his name, title, and picture on it at the front desk, and started to talk to me. Literally was the most condescending conversation I had with any one in the banking world. There's a form I need to hand in by either mailing it in or dropping it off at a location. He asked me how do I need to do anything with a form if I don't have it?! He also told me that there's 1800 numbers that I can call for help. I literally drove there to be told I should had come in cuz I don't know what I'm doing! Rude! Don't come here! Call the 1800 number instead!
