Business owner double dip/ charge transaction on card and then says it didn't go thru so he can charge you twice.
On Friday 07/28/2024 @ approximately 11 am, I was charged $9 on my debit card for the purchase of 7 Swisher sweet grapes. Once in my car the owner came running to my car telling me it didn't go thru while in my bank's phone application it showed it went thru.
Once back inside I gave him back swiped my card again which he canceled thru his register ( I used to be in the Credit Card Prpcessing business, so I know the tricks). I proceeded to the ATM inside the store to get $20 + $3 transaction fees.
I paid the $9 cash and asked him to loom for my transaction which he could have done on the spot by batching the last 5 transactions (which he didn't do).
He then asked me to wait the usual 2 business days...Friday/ Saturday/Sunday and Monday.
On Monday I went and still nothing ...he refused to reimburse me the $9 because he was still waiting...
Today Tuesday 07/02 @15:30 still nothing . He refused to pay me back .
Bare in mind that I am his late brother's customer since day one of their operation and we own a business close by without mentioning we've been in Lakewood for the last 30+ years.
His late brother use to give me credit for a pack of cigarettes when I wasn't carrying neither cash nor card...
As a business owner who knows me him and all his GREAT EMPLOYEES could have let me know the following day that the transaction didn't go thru...but no he choosed otherwise.
This is not a way to conduct business . It is unprofessional and deceiving !
I will never go back there and do all my best to spread in the Huntley/Lake In The Hills/ Algonquin/ Lakewood and Crystal Lake my experience with this business owner !!!

They sell old expired or bad tobacco. DONT BUY FROM THERE. I even brought it up and he didnt seem to care.

Extremely disappointing business! I forgive the higher pricing occasionally for the convenience factor. He is close by and has been in the neighborhood for quite a while. However, he is 20 to 25% higher than anybody else. His refrigerators are always down and the place always smells bad. He actually was going to charge me more today because what I bought was refrigerated in a refrigerator that he told me was not working. He is not a very honest man. Sorry to say

The people working there are liars and miss inform you. The products are way over priced and they run a very sketchy business. On multiple occasions I've seen cops outside. I would recommend the liquor store around the corner.
