Great shop. And the most helpful owner. I needed some obscure wool product and I was taken to the basement and shown an exhaustive supply of wool product. The owner, Cindy, is a gem . You wont be disappointed. sylvia

This needlepoint shop used to be great. But I have had things out for finishing since February and no one can tell me when they will be finished. I am told they will call me back with status and they never do. I don’t understand how it is so hard for them to get an actual date - even estimated - from the finisher. At this point I am wondering if my projects have been lost or damaged. An honest attempt to provide me information would be appreciated, but it has yet to happen. So disappointed with the service integrity.Update: Candice contacted me from Forest Needle and responded to my email to the shop, and gave me information about my finishing order. I have changed my review to 3 stars to reflect this, as well as because the shop has an outstanding canvas and fiber selection. The finishing quality is very good; the communications between the finisher, shop and customers is what could be improved.

Disregard the review I gave in 2016. The Forest Needle is slowly going down the drain. Only open 4 days, who closes a shop on Saturdays? Customer service is lackluster at best. No one really knows needlepoint. All of the talented staff has left, due to terrible management. We all know Covid was hard, but other Needlepoint stores remained busy and thriving because of their customer service because so many were stitching while at home. There are other options on the Northshore, check them out!

I cannot say enough about The Forest Needle. The variety and depth of fibers is amazing. I travel a lot and visit needlepoint stores along the way and am often disappointed with the limited choices. It reinforces how fortunate we are to have this gem in our backyard!! It is worth the trek and visit. Town is lovely - so make it a day if you do not live in the area. You will not be disappointed. The classes, and the amazing amount of canvases is wonderful. The owner and ladies that work there are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They spend time with each customer and offer ideas and solutions to questions. I know finishing has been a negative in the past, but that was quite awhile ago and they are using a new finisher that does wonderful work.

A big “Thank You†to The Forest Needle for their exceptional service!! I do not have a local NPS & have anticipated visiting this gem on my trips to Chicago. This is a beautiful high end shop with loads of canvases, fibers, embellishments, accessories, and inspiring store displays. Situated in a lovely community with parking in front, the welcoming storefront location and helpful staff has earned my repeat business. This is a not-to-be-missed shop!

The Forest Needle is a beautiful store with amazing needlepoint canvases and classes! Candice is warm, friendly, and very knowledgeable.The Forest Needle did a wonderful job finishing a belt and a christmas ornament. I highly recommend The Forest Needle to anyone who, like me, wants to start a wonderful new hobby.

Cannot say enough about this needlepoint shop. From canvases, to fibers, to finishing, to service. All is top notch. Finishing prices are reasonable, considering the finished products, and very competitive with the other needlepoint stores in the area. Needlepoint is not an inexpensive hobby, but so worth it, considering you are creating heirlooms for generations, stitched with love. Highly recommended and I have been stitching for almost 40 years!
