I had new wheels and tires installed along with an oil change here and they did a great job at a reasonable price. Their service adviser Adrian gives you a quote and they stick to it. Axel himself is super knowledgeable so I would for sure recommend taking your car here if you need work done.

5 stars doesn’t even cover it for this place. Adrian, Nick and the entire team are not only friendly and knowledgeable but extremely helpful. I am a workshop owner myself and trusted them coming from Atlanta.I booked with the team to do a pre purchase inspection on my Audi S6. The shop went above and beyond into doing a full inspection on the vehicle, even scoping my turbochargers to find they needed replacement, saving me literal thousands of dollars on the purchase of the car. They also went ahead and did an oil change with Liqui Moly oil and a quality OE oil filter, of which I’m extremely fastidious about.After purchasing the car, there was a fuel leak from the previous owner which was quickly rectified in a totally professional manner, getting me back on the road for a 12hr drive.If you drive an exotic or just a daily driver, the team here know exactly what they are doing and they do it with a smile.Highly recommend and would take my vehicle here for any other work if I find myself in IL!

Axels Automotive is the best! Adrian was so responsive to my calls and continued to call me back with updates throughout the week. I had a situation that dealt with another auto shop and Adrian worked with them, was professional and fixed the problem at a very reasonable price. Thank you Axels. I will be back!

I had a less than satisfactory experience recently. I've known Adrian for a few years since his time at GRD Tuned. While we're not exactly close, there's no serious animosity between us either. However, my latest interaction with Axel's Automotive, where Adrian is currently employed, was quite perplexing and notably overpriced. I was unexpectedly billed $374.84 for the installation of an APR supercharger belt (which costs $37.98) without my consent. My car, a 2013 Audi A8L, was originally taken in for an engine replacement estimate, which I never received. Although I try to see the best in people, practices like these cast a shadow on the integrity of the shop. What's most surprising is the initial invoice I received two days ago was around $217 for a simple belt change, including $180 for diagnostics, which seemed fair. However, the following day, the bill had inexplicably risen to $400, which I find unacceptable.

Axel was very knowledgeable and detailed. He got us in and out within 20 minutes even though it was just a quick fix. He did a great job. Definitely would recommend him to work on your Mercedes.
