The staff could not have been more helpful or friendly, definitely not pushy but they did not ignore us.

“If I could give more than 5 stars I would. This is our second year coming to this establishment for prom dresses. We purchased a dress last year as well, which was just as much success as this year. The staff is PHENOMENAL, and make the girls shopping for dresses feel safe and comfortable. As a mother, this is a huge relief. They are extremely attentive and very personable. They even have an alternation specialist available for dress alterations. We found the perfect dress for Senior prom all thanks to the amazing staff. This is the only shop I personally will continue to recommend even in the future for other parents. Highly Highly recommend!!!!!!!”

When checking out, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they offer a free gift wrapping (at least, during the holidays). The present came wrapped up in a nice box, complete with tissue paper, a fabric red ribbon, and a decorative ornament on top. Great local business!”

“Cheap, and fast(same day work) with great quality work. To restitch, water proof and clean my work boots was $20. And I’m a sprink… if you know then you know how dirty my boots get(black water). “I have always had excellent service for over 15 years. I have a wide foot and issues with my feet. The orthotics they sell are better than Scheck and Siress. The orthotics don't fall apart like Scheck and Siress. $700.00 vrs $50... I'll stick with New New Balance from now on. Manager Matt runs a great operation. Now, all they need is some colors in the wide shoes”

She passed on so much information that we have never heard before and this is our third pointe shoe fitting. “Golden Shoes was recommended by the rounding podiatrist at my mom's assisted living (Evergreen Senior Living). She has a spur on her left heel that's quite painful, so the Dr. said GS sells cushy shoes that could give her some relief. My mom is 88I phoned Monday, 4/29 at about 5:45 pm. The lady said she'd have to call me back, as the store was slammed. OK. Well, around 8 pm, Camille called back. I said, "It can wait until tomorrow; go home!" She said, "You sounded kind of desperate, so I called tonight." We ran through the situation and she assured me they could help.My mom had a Dr. appt. on Thursday, 5/2, so I wanted to kill a couple of birds while she was out anyway. Camille told me she might not be in when we came, but Mike could take care of us. And boy, did he! She hadn't be back of 5 minutes at Evergreen before receiving two compliments on the shoes. It's not about the fashion, but rather the comfort/relief the shoes bring. She said it was about 80% better.Mike was so kind, patient, professional, but relaxed; great sense of humor, too! I can't say enough about Golden Shoes, their staff and selection. We frequent restaurants nearby, but never knew the store existed. I'm so thankful Dr. Maureen recommended it. “Yesterday I was fortunate enough to go into your VonMaur Store in Bloomington/Normal Illinois. It should be noted that my friend and I received incredible customer service from Karen in women’s clothing, Ann in Jewelry and from a gentleman who helped us in Men’s Clothing. All three Sales Reps were juggling other people while we were shopping (and asking questions as well) and they showed extreme adaptability, knowledge of inventory, patience, and kindness. We were seriously going to walk out with nothing when Karen asked us to try a couple of different dresses and in different sizes and to make a long story short, we both bought the last dress that each of us tried on because of her incredible salesmanship and knowledge of the product, material and fit! A great experience to shop in your stores and she even surpassed the attention test that I always attributed to only boutiques.”

“I went here on 02/10, I was looking at the guardian angel website and noticed this business was listed as a seller. I was also seeking reflective clothing at the same time. They're advertised as the largest selection of reflective clothing in Chicago so I decided to take the nearly 2 hour drive from Freeport and let me tell you, I was not disappointed and sure didn't leave empty handed. Needless to say I feel a lot safer getting out there doing my job, towing & recovery. I would highly recommend this business for all your reflective and safety gear needs. I'm definitely going to brag about this business to my coworkers!”

Now the shoes really are the same price as elsewhere. also I am a popular size so don't find a lot that fits me.Love the shoe carnivals in Chicago though. They usually have my size and more interesting shoes. Think they probably just move more inventory.Recommend though. I walk through every so often.”
