Their fraud detection is terrible. They lock our card twice a week and deny 80% of purchases under $10 because they think it’s fraud. Normal companies like Uber or the grocery store that we go to every week. No way to disable it.

This post is specifically because ever since my credit union merged with CCU my wife and I each get Mail every week to take out life insurance through CCU. I don't want it. Stop sending it. I am thinking about closing my account specifically because I am sick of the mail.

This particular branch does not have shared services with other Credit Unions. And despite Andigo and Consumer joing together you still can't access your Andigo account here.

I've had the best banking experience with CCU over the past few years. When my account was targeted with fraudulent checks last year, I was promptly refunded and their team helped me quickly update my account information. Their customer service is excellent and their office is modern. I have never felt uncomfortable here!

Went in to take care of a account. Did not feel comfortable at all to be in a place that takes your money it can not give you anything to show your payment. And on top of it is going to ask for different bills to make my payment. When min before he said I’m good to go. It’s a joke in there do not use this place

*zero if I could* Once upon a time there was Meadows Credit Union and they had lots of very loyal customers that had been at their branch through many many many many years...like 20 plus years, as in, when I grew up and became a real boy and had a big boy bank account. Then the big bad Consumers Credit came in and huffed and puffed with their hot air. Now Consumers is just consuming and ruining everything that Meadows built over the years. In all seriousness, MCU was once a very VERY personal bank. Anytime I called with questions about loans Janet was there or the girls that picked up when calling in, Julia, Jamie or Ann. There wasn't an almost 1 week hold on a check deposited. Employees knew and had relationship with the members. When you apply for a loan MCU knew that you had a loan history but since my years didn't transfer over, it's as if I'm a brand new "member". All of that customer service is gone now. Consumers is a terrible credit "union". Now I get to go join some big bank monster because the last of great personal banking is dead apparently. *Originally posted for MCU branch in Rolling Meadows, IL

Very disappointing experience! I have been loyal customer to Consumers Credit Union for 2 years and my husband for 25 years or so... I even encouraged my family members to open accounts at Consumers Credit Union too, last year which I am not sure if I would do it today.

I recently opened an account with Stephanie Castro and she was very helpful, patient, and explained everything thoroughly. She helped me previously at another institution and she was a great help too. That's why I decided to reach out to her again. She moved locations but I was still able to get in touch and she helped me trough the phone/email. After opening an account she helped me with my loan. I am pleased with the whole process!!
