Rubber Rose Books & Print is a quaint little bookstore in the heart of Kankakee. The owner, Nicole, is very friendly and responds to any inquiries or questions you have about books. For a smaller store they have a good variety of books from cozy mystery, sci-fi, romance, non fiction, and children's books. They even have a section with newer book releases which has some great books in it, including some book of the month books. I was able to get my kids and I a couple books each for $20, a long with some very cute bookish stickers. They even have special book candles.My kids and I love to go and explore for the treasures we will find there.

Rubber Rose is definitely what the community needs! They have a HUGE selection of used books and the prices are great. I enjoy going to browse for books I might not otherwise pick up. While the "newer" releases are usually some of the first to go (that's a good thing!), there's still so many other books to choose from. The "new to the store" books are generally shared on social media, so if you visit frequently, you can see what's new without having to make a trip. I highly recommend stopping in so see what Rubber Rose has to offer!

We are so fortunate to have an independent bookstore in downtown Kankakee. The prices are awesome and there's always a great selection.

Once I discovered The Rubber Rose book store, I can’t get enough. I go in weekly to satisfy my unquenchable thirst for reading and there’s always something new. I’m a huge mystery/thriller fan and the selection is huge! The owner Nicole is very personable and accommodating…she lets me dig through piles of books to my heart’s content!!!

Lovely atmosphere! It is a relatively small space and the selection, while not large, is always changing. I check in regularly and it's always different! Visiting is like a treasure hunt which is part of the charm and makes finding that special book even more rewarding. Perfect for locals and worth a look if you're just passing through!

I love Rubber Rose. Not only is the owner, Nicole, so kind and caring, but the prices are great and she'll look out for books for you if she doesn't have something you're looking for. 10/10 my favorite bookstore in the area!

Friendly service with a variety of used and new publications.Also available are many free publications and public offerings like free feminine/general hygiene products.Rubber Rose Books and Prints is currently the only distributor of free Holy Qur'an (Arabic, English, Spanish) in Kankakee County, Illinois.These offerings are brought to you in partnership with Lands and Hands Community Resources, an Illinois Not-For-Profit Corporation.

Rubber Rose is such a great place! The atmosphere is warm and cozy and the selection is widely varied. The owner Nicole is fantastic, friendly and helpful. Prices are more than affordable. I bought five books for $15. Kankakee has needed an independent bookstore like Rubber Rose for many years and I’m glad we have it now. I’ll definitely be back once I get through this stack of books.
