“Where do I begin! Ray is a great guy! One hell of a mechanic as well! I called ray telling him I needed two tires installed and brakes he’s like come on by I’ll be here, I brought it after work and ray greeted me with a hand shake! Right there I appreciate, old school guy with respect. He gave me the option to drop it off or wait around I decided to wait around, his set up is so cool, old school. Ray and I have some awesome conversations, learning about him and his knowledge. He taught me stuff while working on my bike. Reminded me of my grandfather that passed away. “If I could give this place ten stars, I would. I brought my SUV here due to a loud exhaust after a GM dealership quoted me $1700 to replace my entire exhaust system. A local mechanic suggested I check out Velasquez Muffler and Brakes in Kankakee. $140 and the problem is solved. No more loud exhaust and it was done in less than in a hour with no appointment needed. Also, the nicest people! “This was the best customer service experience I’ve ever had. I was in a pinch and needed a tire quick. I’m new to town and so I had no clue where to go. I called West Side Tire and they recommended a towing company and then ordered me a new tire. I dropped my car off the next day and within 2 hours my tire was on my car and ready for pickup. These guys are awesome!!!”
“These guys are fantastic. A while back, I brought a knuckle in from an old K10 to have the ball joints pressed out and in. We ran into a few issues with the ball joints being installed opposite (bottom on top, vise versa) and then having issues with the upper ball joint loosening during instalation of the knuckle, but they went above and beyond fixing any issues.
They proved their integrity, which is why I didn't hesitate to bring in the other knuckle when I had the time.
These guys have gained my business, and I trust them to do it right, or at least have integrity to make it right.”

“Manifolds replaced (labor) 450 both sides of 5.3 Silverado, best prices hands down for exhaust work and everything else. Oil pan gasket 300$ for the same truck..to me my opinion it’s worth my 50min ride to them. The owner is the nicest man you can meet and the hardest worker”

If they found another problem, they'd call and ask if it was OK to go ahead and fix it before doing it.
