Worst credit union out there. If I could give you a -10, I would. Applied for a car loan, got it with no payment book, no reminder of when due NOTHING! Are they setting you up to fail?

Definitely the worst CU to deal with. Would never recommend anyone use them. Their staff has zero communication and they will give you the run around about simple tasks.

Awful, awful service. The purpose of the credit union membership is to have access to member services. I was denied a mortgage - was told I needed a certain high, high score and I had to pay off old medical bills to qualify. Contacted Rocket Mortgage same day and was approved and through underwriting in 48 hrs w/a fixed 2.3% APR in 2021. Just Contacted them about a small personal loan, was denied due to ex husbands negligence w/him paying a court ordered Numark car payment in 2019. He went to jail for nonpayment/contempt etc. i provided all documents As Proof. My income is excellent, my debt to income ratio is excellent, my two car notes were paid off, I have no other personal loans, MY payment history is 100%. They only service an elite group. My household will be closing all accounts immediately.

I have no idea how this place does any business they never answered the phone.. I have been Calling the Joliet branch sense 10 AM. I leave a message I call back and try and reach another department and I sit on hold for 15 Minutes and leave my number and I call again and again and again and it's now 4 and a 1/2 hours later. All I'm trying to do is pay off a loan but I need the payoff amount b4 I drive there. This is terrible

Absolutely pathetic team of women that keep a disgusting attitude with members. God forbid you have any issues that need help getting solved. They do not care and show no real effort or consideration. I will not be banking here anymore. This goes for many locations as well with this one. Horrible business IMO

I have been with NuMark since my 2nd job when my grandmother took me in to start my financial journey maybe 20 years ago. I have had a couple loans through them and watched as they branched out and grew. I moved out of state and continues to use them as my primary bank. No major problems up until recently and it seems like their is no customer loyalty and it is just another major institution. Call center doesn't look into issues just asked and answered. I attempted to pay off my last loan, recently so I made a $1200 payment and from my account it showed zero. I called and the credit union and the rep told me it would be a couple days before it showed but to wait a week. I waited 2 weeks and sent a message asking what was going on. They told me there was a $4 interest balance and why didn't I ask for a payoff quote when I spoke to the rep... SMH because silly me thought I was calling an institution with a loan department that would assist me when I called to follow up the first time. Needless to say it took over a month and finally got my title.Update: I was contacted shortly after this to correct the issue. Fortunately it was already corrected but I went into more specific details with the manager. I do appreciate them looking into my situation and hope there is some documentation and retraining with some individuals.

If I could go lower than a 1 star I would. Terrible service, takes weeks to get in touch with someone. You agree on a term for a specific rate and then when you go in to sign for it they change the term and APR. They hurt your credit and waster your time expecting you to walk in and accept the worse loan. Avoid this place, other reviews are right.

My husband and I moved to Numark because we were tired of large banks finding ways to take our money. After moving to Numark I don't feel any different. I'm always being charged courtesy fees left and right. I tried to disable this feature with them but was told I get charged a fee regardless if I didn't have enough funds, which is stupid. If I don't have enough funds why charge me if the charge doesn't go through and if you pay it anyways. Also, they put long holds on everything. I could have prevented fees if the holds weren't long. Also, they say my available balance is one thing but won't let me spend money if there is a hold that they put. I did a mobile deposit and they put two separate holds on one check so I got half one day and half another which means I can move my money around as I don't have access to prevent the stupid courtesy fees. They charge fees as soon as the transaction hits most banks give you at least 24 hours to be aware and fix it which makes it hard to move money when they charge you a courtesy fee at 1AM when the transaction hits, as most times when the transaction is pending it's there for maybe an hour as pending then disappears and then is withdrawn at 1 AM which is not enough time to correct charges, and then notify you at 12PM that a large transaction hit your account. I see why people don't put their money in banks and hide it in mattresses because they at least know where their money is. I tried speaking to customer service they told me to turn on app features that were already on and only notify several (at least 4-7) hours after the charges have come out which doesn't help me prevent fees if it notifies me too late. Also, their "interest" they pay on checking accounts is terrible. This "credit union" is just another money grab. Banks and credit unions are set up to penalize the poor and have low income. Getting rich off of people who already are struggling and continuing to charge them fees.

We are trying to get a home equity loan. Called NuMark and they called back and left VM telling us to call them 24/7. Not true. Wasted our time calling back and could not get person on the phone. Called next day and someone had to call us back. They called at 5:30 our time while we are trying to do a grocery run and start dinner. We asked them if they could please call us back and they said NO because the phones are BUSY. Got a brief run down and then felt pressured to have our credit run. My fiancé again asked him to call us back and was again told no. Explained that since he was more concerned with the other calls and not with helping us, that he can call us back and hung up. I have NEVER felt so unappreciated as a customer. He said, let me run credit, it'll just take a few minutes. DUDE! We are not ordering a pizza, we are talking about taking $70K equity on our house. We need to think about it, we need to ask questions...just left bad taste in our mouth.

I wish i had read these reviews prior to opening my account here, because based on these reviews and my initial interaction, I'm nervous. I wanted to establish a relationship with a local institution and thought this was the right one. Having worked for financial institutions for over 30 years as well as being a head teller at another credit union in the past, I am well aware of how customer service should be handled as well as the importance attached to instilling confidence in members/customers. After saving change for several years with my kids we wanted to start a vacation savings account. I was rudely informed that they do not take unrolled change. This was the first experience and not pleasant. However, I do understand that you cannot tie up a teller hand counting all that change. Not exactly sure why they don't have a coin counter... The kids and I went home and rolled the change, we ran out of penny wrappers and used plain paper to roll the balance in the proper amounts. When I went back this morning with my husband to add him on the account and to deposit the change, we were again met without a greeting when we came in, despite being the only members in the lobby. I asked for help filling out the deposit slip and was met with condescension (their slips were different than the ones we used) I was also informed they would take NO unrolled change, I had $12.05 worth of coins of various denominations that were not enough of each denomination to make a full roll. I found this strange and annoying especially considering there is a national change shortage. They did however, after discussion deign to take the rolls that were not in official penny rolls, and graciously informed me I could perhaps purchase rolls from Amazon in the future. Considering the federal reserve charges for rolled coin and I just rolled the coin myself and handed it to them I found this annoying. I'm hoping things don't continue in this vein. We will see. Really I should apply for a position and help their image in the community by improving their customer service point of view.

Applied for a personal loan with a 700+ credit score to consolidate some credit cards. Two weeks later after providing almost as much paperwork as a mortgage application and supplying payoff letters it was denied. Applied at another credit union and was approved the same day with just providing paystubs. Every time you call you can't get through to someone and have to leave a callback number. Definitely closing my account after 2 years of being a "member".Avoid this place!!

Difficult to talk to anyone. The chat function via mobile doesn't work. They also clearly don't want me to put money in my account. I've been trying to make deposits all month via mobile deposit and they keep rejecting it for random reasons. Should I move my money elsewhere? It's ridiculous. Very disappointed with this credit union overall. ***Update, I'm so thankful for Karen who gave me a phone call to alleviate my concerns and confirmed my mobile deposit. She was also very helpful and insightful on additional services I plan to use in the future as well. Thank you so much for the extra care.

Went to branch a week ago to open account. Rep was wonderful, however attempting to reach the branch without driving there is not possible and the call center is comprised of individuals with minimal knowledge or customer skills. Now the online chat center told me just drive in your car if you want to speak to someone at the branch. DO NOT BANK HERE - I AM GOING TO HAVE TO GO ELSEWHERE AGAIN - WHAT A PAIN!!!!!!!

I loved Northstar Credit Union. They cared about their members, always resolved issues, low wait time, very accommodating. Since the acquisition by Numark it's been nothing but problems and nickle and diming. Can't get a straight answer except "no, we can't do that." I have a car loan and 4 accounts including business. I look forward to moving ALL my business elsewhere. Thanks for nothing Numark.
