This place is a local gem. The only way to really understand it is to visit yourself. It is small, but it is very clean and some of the best meat you will have had in years for great prices! I recommend it highly. I just got to experience them for myself even though I’ve been in the area for many years. I definitely have been missing out. Don’t make the same mistake.

My husband found this gem of a place and I am so glad. A REAL BUTCHER still in business. Their meat quality is unmatched, and they carry the types of meat we need for a variety of specific dishes that we have a hard time finding anywhere else. Their prices are not outrageous and they will special order/cut things how you need them.The butchers also have a professionalism that you don't find at your chain grocery store. I stopped in today for the first time myself and will be back!

My second visit to Mitchell s and the staff was extremely helpful. I purchased pork and beef poorboys. My tip is to checkout the prepared salads in the cooler, they are outstanding!

Mitchell's Grocery store has been a Joliet staple for 85 years. It's a small place but they carry more obscure grocery items and have the best deli meat market without a doubt ! Check them out!
