  I highly recommend lightways hospice of joliet to anyone that has the unfortunate need for hospice care. 100 percent of the staff I had interaction with was caring and compassionate. They are all amazing people and I am grateful we selected them to help us in our time of need with my dad.

  I don't make it a practice of leaving negative reviews, but felt it necessary to share my experience with Lightways. They came highly recommended by Silver Cross Hospital, and their reviews were good. When my father-in-law fell ill and quickly deteriorated over the course of 2 weeks, we were shocked at being faced with arranging comfort care and wanted to take advantage of every resource to keep him comfortable over the next 24-48 hours, the amount of time that was estimated that he had left. We elected to meet with Lightways to assist with keeping my father-in-law comfortable in the hospital.Upon being greeted by the Lightways representative, we were ushered into a conference room. It was immediately apparent that the goal was to sell us on transferring my father-in-law to the Lightways facility. He proceeded to pass out brochures and even showed us pictures on his phone stating that it was a beautiful place to die. Further, he stated that there is even a drink cart that comes around at night serving adult beverages. His main goal was to get the money from medicare, and his method to reach that goal was like trying to sell a timeshare.He never once asked us any questions about our loved one, nor did he answer the questions posed to him about what we could expect in the way of comfort care. In fact, when I asked him directly about how Lightways would care for my father-in-law, he stood up from the table and said, "We can talk about that after you guys have time to talk about transferring him to our facility. If you choose to keep him here in a contract bed, that's up to you." Appalled and disgusted barely begin to explain the feelings associated with this experience. We were distraught and desperate to get my father-in-law the comfort he so badly needed due to high levels of pain and distress that were, quite frankly, traumatic to watch.While this individual does not reflect every person associated with Lightways, it is clear that making money is the first priority and taking advantage of and guilting people at the worst moments of their lives is the method of accomplishing that priority. I recognize that it is a business and that everyone needs to get paid, but this is not the way to do it.

  My mother was transferred here into hospice, and although she only lasted 24 hours, I couldn't have asked for a better place for her to spend her final hours. The facility is beyond beautiful and the staff is amazing. Not only do they take amazing care of the patient, but, the whole family as well. They made the worse day of my life bearable.

  My husband was recently cared for at Lightways. This is a fantastic caring facility. All the staff members were caring and gentle to my husband and all of our family. You cannot go wrong in choosing Lightways for your family. They even have an area for family members to get food and beverages to help during this difficult time. The entire facility is immaculately clean!

  My father was brought into hospice in a Friday evening and the few days that he was there, the love and care shown by the entire staff was amazing. There are not enough words to express our gratitude for the care not only shown to our father, but our entire family during this process.

  My mother Priscilla is u dear their care in home hospice. Colleen our cna and Natalie our nurse are the best! They go above and beyond to ensure my moms taken care of.

  I AM ON HOSPICE BECAUSE OF MY HEART DISEASE AND I AM DIABETIC. MY HEALTHCARE TEAM IS VERY KIND AND CARING AND AVAILABLE 24/7. ONE DAY I MENTION HOW I LIKED CHEF SALDS MADE WITH EVERYTHING ON IT AND COUPLE DAYS LATER ONE OF MY CARE TEAM MEMBERS BROUGHT ME ONE. THAT WAS VERY NICE THAT THEY WENT OUT OF THEIR WAY!!!!!

  My aunt was treated with respect here. The staff were friendly, and were always upbeat and upfront. The service was excellent and she was treated like a VIP. The food for the client was what you can get at a 4plus star or better restaurant. If the food was not what my Aunt wanted we could go get her whatever she wanted. She chowed down on Aurelio’s Pizza and Babe’s Hot Dogs, and the staff were so excited that she was eating, After my Aunt passed the staff was there for hugs for me. The people that work here are a special gift from God.

  I had three of my family under hospice care in three different situations. One was at home, one in a nursing home and one in the hospice home. The care and consideration of the patient and the family was exceptional. I don't know where they find so many people like that to work for them. They go beyond what is expected.

  A most caring, beautiful and serene setting for our brother's last days. Staff was very compassionate, attentive and professional. They go out of their way to make the patient and family comfortable. We could not have asked for a more ideal situation for this very difficult transition. Thank you.

  Lightways is a facility sent from Heaven. The promise of caring for your sick family member and their family is 100% true. Never have I seen a more obliging, mindful, respectful group of people working toward one goal. Peace and beauty, family and freedom from burdens. We spent a week with my brother Scott at Lightways. He toured the grounds, spoke with staff and chose the facility before he became too ill. He knew he wanted to spend his time there with no worries, where they would care for him in a secure environment. What we could never have guessed was how well we, his family were cared for. There were a lot of us and no one blinked an eye when providing things for overnight stays, meals, refreshments, someone to vent to. We will never forget Lightways kind and compassionate dedication. Our family will be showing our deepest gratitude via donations, hopefully so Lightways may continue to care for hospice patients and their families as they cared for us.

  The facility is beautifu, but the staff is unethical in many ways. They did an assessment on my husband while he was on Ativan , fentanyl, and morphine and changed his medicall power of attorney. When I asked what was the criteria was for the assessment, asked to speak to the medical director, all they said is they couldn’t speak to me because I no longer had power of attorney.

  My daughter was there Sept 6 2021 and passed away on the 8th. She got wonderful care the time she was there and the staff was wonderful to our family. This place is beautiful. I go there walk around the pond and sit across from my daughters room . I feel her there and I get a feeling of calm there. Thankyou to everyone that helped during our time of grief.
