This hospital basically kulled my grandfather. They tried ripping his feeding tube out of his stomach that caused him to get an infection that led to his death. The next part is what they did before he died that caused his life to be cut short. This hospital use to be good years ago. But now this hospital is unbelievable with the doctors they have there. They are completely unable to be trusted to treat anyone. My grandfather life has been shorten by the completely malpractice. The doctors here don't even look at the patience records to see what their history was. This hospital should be shut down.

My mother was taken there because she fell and they couldn’t find anything wrong with her so they decided to do further test cat MRIs ct scans etc and still couldn’t find anything, however after every test she came out worse, when they tapped into her spinal cord to draw fluids she went into cardiac arrest which caused her to get brain damage, she became paralyzed and now stopped breathing all under there care and still haven’t found anything wrong, but they have her on so many medications without any diagnosis. None of the doctors are speaking with us or each other leaving everything up to the nurses. When asked why they said it’s protocol! I am so disappointed and furious! Please don’t take you family or loved ones there! Some of the staff were rude and disrespectful to a point where I had to say somethIng just to end up getting kicked out and now banned! Please don’t go there I beg you please!

The nursing staff at St Joe’s was fantastic. Three nurses that I had that were above excellent were Susan( the best nurse I’ve ever had), Kaitlyn who was so helpful getting things done for us and Oliver a really nice young man. Susan should be recognized by the hospital as one of their best nurses.

You will need a full hazard shower after waiting in that dirty waiting room.

I was visiting out of town when I got sick. From start to finish this hospital and staff made me feel at ease. Dr Peter is amazing knowledgeable and has the best bed side manner. The nurses and staff were so accommodating caring and patient with me. The er staff was just as caring and efficient. I can’t thank this hospital enough for making an unexpected surgery a little easier.

These guys are super unprofessional. The nurses are entitled and feel they can do what they want to their patients. They had accidentally given me an opioid. I went straight to the doctor the next day to confirm via lab reports. I tried to get discharge paperwork from them but they hang up as soon as I tell them it’s me. I had been nothing but polite and kind during my encounter there and received the opposite. The entire time I was there they seemed to think something was funny.

Our experience at this hospital has been terrible. My mother was brought in due to extreme dehydration. None of the doctors have given clear explanations as to her condition. The nurse care that she is receiving has been hit and miss. On several occasions nobody was very responsive to help her to the bathroom. And don’t bother contacting the community manager. They don’t return phone calls.Contact the Illinois department of public health and send I formal complaint. I am

My Husband was rushed by Ambulance. After 3 hours we were told he should be admitted, then waited another 5 hours before he could get a room. The 1st night the Nurse was great but after that everything went down hill. Had to hear how the Nurses were going on strike because they were unhappy about pay and people. I get it and support them however, they should still take good care of the patients they have. That did not happen. I had to empty the urine bottle and the overflowing trash the whole time he was in there, Nurses tried to give him the wrong medication twice and then tried to over medicate him 2 hours later. By the 3rd night, a Male Nurse was so rude when my Husband called to ask for help and when he answered the call the Nurse said "What do you want?" then never came in to help. We demanded to have my Husband released. Oh and the Doctor, came in twice the whole time he was there and in total spend 3 minutes and 16 seconds with him.Never again. I will carry my Husband to a different Hospital before I ever let him go to St Joe's again. This use to be an amazing Hospital but it has gone down hill over the last 4 years. It's sad!

We were in the emergency room for 11 hours before seeing a doctor and 12 hours before getting a room. The nurses seemed oblivious to the backlog and emotionally detached from the pain, fear and anxiety we were feeling watching out loved ones waiting with no food or medication. I see the canned response from the hospital and I am saying…get your head out of the clouds and spend a Friday night sitting in the ER for a bit of reality!

My 2 month old son was having trouble breathing so I brought him into ER. The nurses were very kind and took great care of him. Thank you so much for being so empathetic and for giving me advice on how to make my baby comfortable.

I rarely post experiences or critique but this one I can not help myself with the unsatisfactory business. I would rate this hospital a zero if I could. I went to the ER for trauma I sustained playing a sport (finger break) at 9pm and didn’t leave until 1am.For some X-rays and a shot of lidocaine in my finger I was billed 6k thousand dollars from the physician and hospital???? Literally that was all I received from st joes. I was in a dirty waiting room bleeding for 3.5 hours before I was even seen. I have never seen disorganized chaos in an ER room. I would highly recommend never setting foot in that hospital.

Not a true medical experience to speak on but sat in the ER for 7 hrs i asked twice regarding how long and both times was given the " doing the best we can" w some attitude which doesnt bother me but i feel they should put in alittle consideration where we are and for what reason for those certain people. Hell... i d k... Anyway i waited for 7 hrs in the ER and ended up leaving. I saw no one, didnt talk to a nurse never went back to a room. 2 months later i receive an invoice for 299.00. Invoice stated that is the remainning balance afyer my insurance paid 1500. Im sorry clerical error does not cut it for me. That is no process and laziness.

My 90 yr old mother arrived by ambulance on a Sunday evening last week. They immediately diagnosed the problem and she went to emergency surgery. Unfortunately she was not able to recover and passed away on Wed. Everything about my families experience at the hospital was exceptional. My mother had 2 of the best nurses (Jake and Marcial on 7 East) that one could ask for. We are eternally grateful for the care and compassion received.

This is by far the worst emergency room imaginable. You’re better off going to urgent care. If you go to the emergency room at night, don’t, because they don’t bring people back until 7am and they won’t tell you until hours later. Not only is it the slowest emergency room ever, the nurses and staff are rude, and they leave people’s personal info out in the very public bathrooms for anyone to tamper with (see photos, this was someone else’s urine sample just sitting on the sink) Drs are not available, you will only see a rude nurse who talks loudly about what she’s going to order for food
