I took my vehicle here for oil change and all of a sudden I bring it back with a smell of burning oil. They tell me every gasket is leaking in my car and I need new rotors and brakes. $3600 they were obviously trying to take me, thinking I didn't know better. They are obviously lacking business and trying to get whatever they can out of the small amount of customers they have coming. Please beware

Saw some great reviews online and loved the fact they've been in business over 30 years. Dropped my car off for a brake job, got an estimate for pads and rotors and they recommended new tires which I knew I already needed. I declined the tires but took them up on the brake job which I thought was a very fair price. The brakes feel really good and haven't had an issue so I will be returning and referring family and friends in the area! Thanks guys!Service: Brakes

On June 21, 2023, I dropped my daughter's car off at JDM for over $1,900 in service to replace brakes. Seemed like a high figure, but since the car was nearly undriveable, I decided to go with it and get the work done. She picked up the car June 26th and the repair seemed to be fine, but she noticed that her cell phone holder was broken. I contacted JDM to ask about potential reimbursement for a $28 cell phone holder that was damaged during the repair process. JDM refused to take responsibility for the damage and refused to reimburse me for the $28 replacement following over $1,900 in payment for comprehensive repairs just a few days prior. My daughter has never lied to me in 23 years, and I absolutely believe that the holder was damaged at some point during the repair process, yet following a few requests for reimbursement, JDM refused to take responsibility and cover $28 for a broken piece of equipment that was in tact at the point of drop off. It's terrible business and they have lost a customer with a family of 5 vehicles due to their refusal to take responsibility for this item. I will never return to JDM again, and I would encourage you to find other auto providers for your needs.

Scheduled an appointment with them for inspection for my vehicle for Turo and I mentioned that specifically. When I came today they didn’t take me because they don’t provide that kind of service. Don’t know what kind of qualifications you need to have just to do regular check up on the vehicle but they rejected me. Very frustrating.

JDM is the best auto shop I have ever gone to! James, the owner, takes the time to listen to what the issue is and has a calm, caring attitude about the work he and his team does. I never feel rushed or like I'm asking a silly question, considering I don't know much about cars, which makes me feel assured that he'll get the job done properly and that I'll be informed along the way. Their communication is timely and consistent! I don't know how their prices compare to competitors, but it seems fair and honest to me. Even if they are slightly more expensive than others, the way they handle business is more than enough for me to keep bringing my car in for them to work on. I typically have really negative experience with auto shops (i.e. poor communication, lack of care/concern, overselling and pushing for things that I don't actually need, all leading to feeling uneducated about my car and sometimes even taken advantage of for my lack of knowledge) but that is NEVER the case at JDM. I actually live in the city, but frequent the Huntley area to visit people who live there, so I now exclusively plan out my auto shop appointments for when I'll be in town as much I can. 10/10 all around!Services: Tires

I went to Jdm last week for a Oil change, they told me they could not use my filter that I bought at O'Reillys because of some insurance clause. I bought the filter because sometimes it's hard to find the metric size that my car requires. Just moved here a few months ago still searching for a solid car repair shop. Still searching!

I moved to Huntley about 6 years back and tried a number of auto services place, but for the last 3-4 years JDM has become my default go to place for any auto servicing needs. The crew is exceptionally professional and cordial at the same time. You get the feeling that their suggestions are aimed towards the customers. We brought my husband’s 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe, into JDM.We purchased it in 2018.They called us and said the engine was a goner. I had just bought myself a 2020. I’m thinking to myself.I cannot afford another car payment.They said the good news is…I’m pretty sure it’s still under warranty from the dealership.I know thats bad on us.we didn’t know?They could’ve got close to $8000 from us to get it fixed.
