Outstanding experience. I was able to get a last minute appointment, since I was not able to wash my myself due to a medical issue.
Not only was the staff accommodating, bug they made sure I was comfortable the entire time. The experience was very pampering and my hair looks great. I would absolutely return.

Update as of March 2024 - I was lucky enough to be a "model" for a straightening treatment about a month ago and was so fortunate to meet Vanessa. Vanessa is "newer" to Ten Friends Hinsdale and she's literally become my new "Allie" (from my initial comment below). Vanessa is sweet as pie and so talented! Like Allie, she can make me fall asleep with her gentle hands. I highly recommend Vanessa! She is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! ???
I've been looking for a dry bar for a while now but unfortunately all the ones in Downtown Chicago have horrible reviews and well, I've just never made it a priority to find one. After having a migraine for over 24 hours and not being able to go to work, I happened to google "blow dry bar" while sitting in the Walmart parking lot and found "Ten Friends" on google. I called and said to myself, "If it's meant to be, they'll be able to take me in today". I had to be somewhere at 2 pm and called them at 10:45 am so my hopes were slim to none but to my surprise, the person who answered said, "I have someone available at 11:15 if you can be here by that time" so I said sure, and left Walmart (I really didn't want to go there anyway LoL) and drove to Hinsdale.
When I got there I was immediately greeted by someone who was very sweet, offered water and/or coffee and what I loved was that they use glass/ceramic instead of paper cups (yes, that matters to me LoL)! I was told Allie would be with me shortly so I looked around the beautiful shop and waited for my time to come.
When I met Allie she asked me what I wanted and I said, "I've had a headache since yesterday so I don't really have any special requests just want my hair blown out in hopes that my headache will subside". During my wash Allie and I talked about the business and how Ten Friends really wants to make this an "experience" rather than a chore. Her hair washing and scalp massage was like no other! I think I kept talking to her (besides the fact that she's super sweet) to not fall asleep because it is SO RELAXING in there! Thankfully Allie is very confident in her skills because she did what she thought would be best for me and when I put on my glasses I was truly WOWED! I LOVED MY HAIR! I have coarse hair, I'm Puertorican LoL so while my hair isn't super thick or super curly, it takes a special handling of my hair to make it look nice and fresh. She gave me the perfect amount of volume (and I don't like a lot of volume) and overall the perfect balance. I LOVED IT!!! I loved it so much that when I got in my car I sent my husband a "one take selfie" which I never do because I think I always look terrible in pictures and he said, "Wow, your hair looks great!" and trust me, he's not very complimentary!
I quickly made an appointment to go back to see Allie soon! This is definitely something that I will make happen for myself at least once a month because the experience was great and Allie is a rockstar!

How do you cancel my appointment and offer no alternatives. At the end of the day before my 8:45am appointment. It's my 60th bday.
This is the best you you can do. JUST HORRIBLE
You offered me absolutely NOTHING.So incredible disappointing

Beautiful space, well curated! I wanted to like it more. My hair was fine but in 3 visits, I was never even offered water. The receptionist just lacks in welcoming or accommodation, which I think is a huge part of coming to a dry bar instead of doing your hair at home. Appointments also rarely start on time, each time my stylist needed 5-10 min to clean up from their previous client. I'd be able to justify more frequent visits and spending the $ if it felt like they wanted my business.

Never write reviews, but needed to vent it out, and move on. WORST BLOWOUT EVER! I love blowouts, get one every week! My usual salon was booked, so I last minute made one at Ten Friends Hinsdale with Natalie. I figured, I've been to Ten Friends before, they are usually good. Plus, I just wanted a round brush blow dry, nothing special! The entire experience was terrible!!! I think she soaked every individual hair with product; and didnt once ask if I liked or used product. The bristles on the brush kept scrapping my face, was hit in the head with the blow dryer multiple times, burned ears a little because she held the dryer in the same spot for a while- right against my head. Then, at the very end said, not bad, except for all the flyaways. She suggested using a serum on my roots to help tame the flyaways. I was hesitant and said, I already feel like I have a lot of product in my hair, I don't know if I want to add more. She said, it's very light weight.. So I did.....wrong choice. Left with heavy, weighed down, looked stiff and air dried, not one bend or bounce, greasy rooted hair. I should've tipped her advice, not money ?? if you want super cute ambience with big flat screens that play cute chic flics, Dry Bar (they have a few locations)..if you want an awesome long lasting blow dry, Highland Park!

I booked Ten Friends Bridal for hair and makeup services on my wedding day. I hadn't personally had experience with them, so I based this decision off of their prices, services, and reviews. I was so happy with my decision to book with them! Lindsay was extremely helpful during the entire planning process and was always available if I had a question. I had an amazing team on the day of: Francesca, Lindsay, Amanda, and Sarah. All of these ladies are extremely professional and truly care about making you look and feel your best. Obsessed with my blowout by Kayla! She got exactly the look l that I wanted (loose waves with a little curl at the ends for prom) and the salon is super cute! I have to be back soon with all my gals!

Ten Friends is my favorite place to get a blow out or make up services! They are reasonably priced and have good availability. I love all of their locations. There is a parking garage close by if you don't want to pay for meter parking. The staff was really friendly and my hair stylist did an awesome job. I told her that curls never hold in my hair and she made sure to make adjustments so that they would hold better. They held all day!! That never happens if I go to a regular salon. I love the products that they use and how they smell.

I hired Ten Friends to do hair and makeup for my wedding and they were fantastic! I cannot recommend them enough! They were professional, kind, on time, respectful, and did a wonderful job on the hair and makeup for 10+ fussy bridesmaids, moms, and the bride. HIRE THEM!!Service: Hairstyling

Had a nice experience at Ten Friends when I was visiting family in IL. I'm from NJ, and frankly I didn't feel like blowing my own hair out so I asked my sister-in-law where she'd recommend and TenFriends was her first suggestion. I was able to book a blowout online the same day, which was great (never happens in NJ lol). The stylist was sweet. The wash was comfortable. The blowout looked great and lasted me a few days! I know where to come when I return to IL! Thank you!

The salon is very nice inside and everyone is friendly. However, I went there for a blowout and style and my stylist did not know how to blow dry my hair and didn't style it how I asked. She left my hair a frizzy mess and my "style" completely fell out before I even left the salon. I was not happy with it at all. I've gotten many blow outs and this one was by far the worst. When I called to make an appointment I asked the receptionist for a stylist who can blow dry curly hair well and I was told which stylist would be doing my hair and when I arrived for my appointment, someone else did my hair, so I don't know what happened there. Annie did my makeup, she was a sweetheart and my makeup looked nice. She even tried to fix my hair. If this is a blow dry bar, the stylists should know how to do a basic blow out.Services: Curly hair
