717 Lake St, Oak Park“I had so much fun collaborating with the owner Patrick on a sour candy challenge for our block party. Kids and adults loved it, and I appreciated the creativity and attention to detail that seems built into the customer experience. 10/10 would recommend. Here’s to more fun!!!”
“Great bulk dry foods, just wish they had nutrition information available for their specific products. (When you look online for info there are often conflicting amounts of calories, carbs, etc. listed for foods & you aren't sure where the foods at the home economist would fall.)”
“This was a nice little candy shop. Parking can be confusing but make sure you read the signs. I just parked a couple mins away on one of the side streets, where it said free parking for 4 hrs. Just to be on the safe side. The staff was very kind and welcoming. They have a good selection of the bark candy including the popular lemon bark and English toffee. Don’t forget you can also sample them before picking one. I sampled the dark chocolate mole and roasted almond sea salt bark. Both of the barks weren’t too sweet. I recommend coming here either when they open or early afternoon, traffic could suck especially if you take the tollways. Prices are reasonable for the high quality ingredients.-Dark chocolate mole 5 - if you smell it before eating, you can catch a whiff of the pasilla peppers that went into these. Not spicy at all but you do get a very mild, subtle after taste. Good blend of spices. I recommend getting a sample.-Coffee crunch 5 - I’m not a coffee person but this was delicious. Toffee and white chocolate had a creamier taste than the other two.-Mini cookie crumble 5 - can’t go wrong with mini. It’s like eating. Nice prominent mint smell and flavor combined with that nice crunchy taste.”
“Aunt Diana's Old Fashioned Fudge (Riverside)
Date of Visit: October 2, 2024
Today, I stopped by Aunt Diana's Old Fashioned Fudge on Riverside, and it was an absolute treat! This small, nostalgic shop is a hidden gem for anyone who loves classic, old-fashioned candies. The moment you walk in, you're greeted by the irresistible aroma of sweets, and the charming décor immediately takes you back to simpler times.
The selection of candies is impressive, offering everything from rich, creamy fudge to freshly made caramel apples, which are a must-try. The caramel was perfectly smooth and buttery, coating crisp, juicy apples that were absolutely delicious. It’s clear that everything is made with care and attention to quality, bringing back that authentic, homemade taste.
What really made my visit special were the two lovely ladies behind the counter. They were not only knowledgeable about the products but also incredibly friendly, making me feel welcome from the moment I walked in. Their genuine warmth and enthusiasm for what they do added a personal touch to the experience that you don’t often find anymore.
Whether you're looking to satisfy a craving for sweets or just want to experience a slice of nostalgia, Aunt Diana's is the perfect spot. I’ll definitely be returning for more of their amazing treats and welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend for anyone in the area!”

“I love Fannie May! The chocolates are very well made and have a wonderful flavor. There are many choices to pick from and the employees are all very nice and very helpful. It's a good place to get a gift for a chocolate lover. If you are in need of a great experience and a good chocolate this store is the place for you to go.”
“I’ve always been a fan of Fannie May. I get Trinidads every time and I’m sad that they discontinued Tangerine Creams. The woman running this place was super nice and attentive. Quick easy stop for a house gift for some friends.”
“By far my favorite candy shop in the area— anywhere really!. Always so nice & helpful. The chocolate is so delicious! Their choc covered strawberries & bananas (usually special order at the Indian Head Park store) are amazing! Can’t say enough nice things about Old Fashioned candies! Their Berwyn store has more offerings but if you want something they’ll bring it over, if you ask.”

“I stopped in Fannie May on 75th in Woodridge today to see what was available for Thanksgiving. The girl behind the counter, Savannah, had great customer service. She was incredibly nice, & friendly, & helpful, & I ended up making a purchase. The holiday selection was great too.I was glad that I stopped there.”
“I came in with my family on Halloween after seeing my in laws. I was pleasantly greared by Cathy who helped us with ice cream and a few other things. I found the store to be spotlessly clean, convenient, the staff was personable and sweet. I would go out of my way to come back here and and i live in Elmhurst were there is Numerous other candy shops/ ice parlors. This was a wonderful experience”
“You go to the grocery store and you might have a good experience, you go to sees candies and not only is the product a G.O.A.T. ,the customer experience is just outstanding as you are treated like they do you at Starbucks, high standards are the only thing that matters there. Been eating their chocolate since 01' and so glad that I did. This can bring you a smile if your down, makes an excellent snack if your hungry, and makes the perfect gift. Sometimes life's guilty pleasures are meant to be avoided. Not this, rinse & repeat and enjoy their products and price is great. They don't ever cheapen their candy, that's prohibited per Warren Buffett!!! Try it it's a must if you haven't, challenge yourself to taste the Best chocolate in the world.”

104 Calendar Ave, La Grange“I stopped here because of the sign in the window advertising English toffee. Upon entering I was a bit skeptical, it had an interesting smell and not much of a selection. I got 1/2 lb of toffee which was around $15. The employee was very nice which improved the experience and the toffee ended up being delicious!”
“I've come to shop only a couple times but what I can say is that the few employees that I have interacted with were very kind and so helpful. They also were quite funny, makings jokes with the people in the place. I will definitely be returning”
10AM - 7PM
2205 Ogden Ave, Downers Grove“Went to Fannie May to pick up some Valentine Day candy for my lovely Valentine. Since I always get the same thing (Chocolate covered cherries), I can't comment on most of the other candies, but they all look tasty. Service was great as always. Very friendly.”
7:30AM - 4:30PM
7301 Harrison St, Forest Park“Forest Park's sweetest attraction is the Ferrara Pan Candy Company. The area exudes a sweet aroma from the candy being crafted inside the factory. The "pan" in the Ferrara Pan name comes from the method in which the candies are made. An open, rotating pan is used to get that hard-candy finish on all your favorites like Original Boston Baked Beans, Sour Cherries, and NERDS.Check out the cool cow head sculpture right below the sign. The cow holds significance for the building as Ferrara relocated to the current premises in the early 1960s. It was previously occupied by Borden Dairy. Elsie the Cow, a mascot created by Borden in 1936, is prominently featured throughout the building's design.”
“I stopped for gift and Jennifer was fantastic. She asked a few questions about what/who the gift was for then offered some suggestions on what to buy...THANK YOU, Jennifer.”
“Great little candy shop with a lot of choices for everyone's sweet tooth! I love candy stores where you can pick and choose from open containers. The store offers some very cute and unique candies. If you are looking for a fun gift or cute birthday party favor this is a good place to shop. They have macarons, rice crispy treats and other items. It is decorated with lots of fun colors, a giant gold gummy bear and other fun decor. I will come back for sure!”
10AM - 7PM
7148 W 127th St, Palos Heights“One of the best sweets shop I ever found. I would recommend trying a bit of everything and then buying what you like the most. Unfortunately, can't recommend one single item because that will be unfair for the rest of the items. Staff are very friendly. Sweets are always fresh. I can't pass by the area without stopping by.”
“My delivery was a DNH..which was great. Guard was extremely nice. Not a huge facility but very organized with their trailer parking. Must slide tandems at gate. I gave it 4 stars only because of the tight streets you must travel to get the load here. Turning right on Grand Ave from Harlem was a nightmare with all the traffic. Streets are narrow and all the rude Chicago drivers make it hard to make turns.”
“Broker sold us a load without a delivery appt but these guys did the best job to get us empty, the lady from the reception was very nice. Thanks for the good job!”
“Of course, the place is great, and a great place for snacks, but one of the employees is very rude, they would tell me where to stand, to close my bag, where to set my stuff, basically bossing me around”
