If we could give this place less than one star, we would. Nor am I sure of the staff and who is who, but we wouldn't visit this place again if they offered free jewelry. From looking at these other reviews, comments and the name of the business, I will assume that the younger male kid is one of the sons.We stopped in to browse and see if they had female watches. There was no staffing in the front of the store and could here people talking in the back. We were in the store first browsing with no staff to be seen. Shortly thereafter, two other groups entered, still no staff. The young male, obnoxious to say the least, finally walked out from his conversation in the back. He immediately greeted the other guests and didn't bother to acknowledge our existence. When we were finally approached, not greeted, his demeanor and attitude was that he was bothered that we inquired about watches and literally said "do you see any watches" and then suggested that we try a pawn shop in Westmont and giggled. He then walked to the back and had an older looking lady try and help us. As he was in the back, we literally heard him say to someone else that there were some "spooks looking for Versace watches out front". Well, we didn't give his Mommy a chance to intervene and apologize. The one other couple heard the same thing and followed us outside and apologized and couldn't believe what they had heard also. Nonetheless, we waited a week and spent $5,200 on a watch across the street at Razny's. And FYI... Razny's staff was courteous, extremely grateful and not disgusting. We even spoke briefly on what had happened at Browning Sons to our Razny jeweler and he suggested that this was normal business with this kid.The staff should be educated and/or have learned in school that it's not nice or friendly to judge a book by its cover. We live in Hinsdale and have resided here for over two years and we've made many positive contributions to this community.It's shameful that in 2023 we are STILL dealing with idiots and bigots to this extent! I can imagine that this review will be followed with a response from the business offering an apology or denying this. I would say to stop in yourself, or better yet, talk to the adjoining business owners on the same street. It seems that this is normal!

Wish I could give 0 stars. Ordered item online, tried to increase price another 1000.00, because there was a "glitch" in their system. Was extremely rude and condescending. Would NEVER recommend, and hope this review helps others.

Ordered and paid for a necklace online from their website. Received a confirmation email from Browning and Sons, CC was charged. Two days later I’m still waiting for ship date. Owner, Rachel, says they have been under construction and haven’t been receiving phone calls or emails. In any event, she is with a customer and will call me back. Hours later she finally returns tha call and tells me there was a “glitch” in there system, and the price of 1300.00 is now 2800.00, but she will let me purchase for 2300,00. A 1000.00 more!!! She says she will contact the vendor and see what they can work out and will call me back on Monday. Monday at 3:00 in the afternoon, I still have not heard from her, I finally call her, and of course she is with somebody and will call me back. An hour later she phoned me back and offers an additional 100.00 off. Now the price is 900.00 additional. I tell her my attorney said this isn’t the correct way to do business, she responds with I can’t talk with you then and HANGS UP ON ME!!! All due to her “glitch” in her website, but automatically took a payment on this “glitch”. BUYER BEWARE!!! Totally unprofessional, especially to hang up on you. Am contacting Attorney General as well b

I gave Browning & Sons three tries to replace the battery in my watch, each time they returned it to me it worked for a couple weeks then stopped again. After two tries, they told me it needed "more work" at an additional expense of course. After this failed third attempted, and nearly $250 in sunk costs for a battery, I took my watch to the original manufacturer. They deemed the watch immediately unrepairable due to water damage and RUST. Rust?! No one at B&S mentioned rust, and they had the watch for repair three times over the course of the preceding 6 months. Rust doesn't just show up over night. Net net, save your quality watches a painful death due and get them serviced elsewhere.

Great attention to details and what I wanted! Extremely creative in helping me take a tennis bracelet of emeralds and diamonds and making them into dangling ear jackets for my daughter’s wedding for me, the MOB! Also, created beautiful earrings for both of my daughters; one was the bride, other maid of honor! Thank you, Rachel and team!

When two other jewelers told me they could not help me have my engagement/wedding ring set reworked into a heart pendant for my daughter to wear with her wedding gown so she could have something of her late father’s with her on her special day, Browning and Son’s came through. They helped me improve on the design I had in mind and designed a breathtaking piece. They offered their suggestions without being “pushy”. I am beyond thrilled with the result. Thank you!
