Scheduled a test at this hospital in 3 weeks. Was informed by the clinic that the hospital will call us the day before the test and let us know the exact time, but it would be scheduled for "sometime in the morning." Very inconsiderate of my time. Not everyone can take an entire day off work.

This is heart breaking. The care my 83 year old mother received is atrocious. I am a part of this community. I went to HJA. I knew the Lonsers, Shubergs, and Murmann's who made the Hinsdale San great. The way this hospital - my hospital is being operated is substandard and shameful. Not only can I be contacted to resolve this. I will volunteer my time to resolve any issues or problems I can. Thank You

Hinsdale Hospital ER, the worst. 11/30/23 arrived to the ER at 10pm with excruciating pain in my leg, couldn't walk, stand or move. Right now is 4am and haven't seen a doctor yet or nurse, still waiting... everyone who arrived after me seen the doctor and left already. Asked for Advil to help with pain said no , you can't have it until see the doctor... How many hours you can wait in excruciating pain??? Answer was we call by severity, and that's decided at registration and after your vital sign check. They make your diagnosis!!!! Stay away from this ER. It's my second time, with same experience

If I could give them negative stars I would. Took my father-in-law there because of urinary tract bleeding. Bleeding was stopped pretty quickly. Stayed overnight. Didn't give him any food because they claimed that he was unable to swallow. We had given him meatballs that very day and he chewed and swallowed them all just fine. General doctor said that the file said the urologist visited him at a particular time. Well, my husband was there at that time and nobody came to check on him. He was there 2 1/ 2 days and we were there most of the time too. No urologist ever showed up. He's been home since yesterday evening. He had to go to the bathroom but was unable. Our home health care worker discovered that they had taped his anus closed so that he could not poop. THIS IS ELDER ABUSE! Don't go to this hospital unless you want to be neglected, abused or worse.

Well it happened. A routine knee hardware removal surgery went wrong! Thankfully, the doctors and staff around me when I woke up coughing blood were able to immediately get me a bed upstairs, and called rapid response create a plan, to get me the help I needed. They have pretty much figured out what went wrong, and helped me understand it as well. Basically, I aspirated during surgery somehow, and broke some blood vessels which poured into my lungs. They initially thought pulmonary embolism. They did multiple chest x-rays, this lung scanner that I don't recall the name of, a CT with contrast, and a bronchoscopy. They did what all they could to find the root cause of the problem. It was very scary, but with the help of the doctors and the staff, they've consoled me and I don't feel scared anymore. Now, in terms of response time by the nurses, I will say It is difficult for a nurse to be everywhere at once. they have many patients to care for. I have walked myself to the bathroom rather than waiting for the nurse. but only do so if you know you are safe, never do that if you are at risk of falling! my orthopedic surgeon cleared me to walk so I did. I have been allowed to have family members and friends spend the night with me, which is so amazing with helping manage my anxiety levels while I'm here. Also, with my family and friends being allowed here, They've been able to help me with things that the nurse might not have been able to get to as fast, like a walk to the bathroom or a blanket or the lights adjusted or whatever I need! a win-win. This was a scary experience, at first there were a lot of unknowns, but the staff truly did their best for me. I can't say that you all will have the same experience, as we all handle things differently and have different medical issues and needs. All I can say is try to have patience with your nurse and care techs, they have lots of patients to care for. Always advocate for yourself, but be kind. Try to listen to what your doctors are telling you. Only thing that could turn this review bad, is if I get a huge bill in the mail. This should be covered by insurance though, as it was a sudden emergency that was not my fault. I have some things to add after reading other reviews. I have spent a fair time in hospitals in my 23 years on earth. I broke both of my legs in a car accident. that was 3 whole months of hospitalization, with care from the best of doctors to the worst of CNAs. Trust me, I know when it's a bad facility, and this is not one. One lady who posted a review was confused why she would be woken up at 2am for a test. The hospital is not a hotel. You will get woken up at awkward times to do tests. A lot of negative reviews are about response time from nurses, which I've already touched on. My bed alarm is not on, so I don't have any issue getting up alone. If your bed alarm is on, that means you are not supposed to get up alone. Also, these doctors and nurses, they need to ask questions to help you. just because you think the questions they are asking aren't relevant, doesn't mean you should Immediately get upset. Listen to each other and advocate for yourself in a calm manner if possible. These are medical professionals, but they are also real people. I'm sure people knew how to communicate better, some of these reviews wouldn't be so negative.

I've just finished spending 2 nights at AdventHealth Hospital in Hinsdale for the first time. It's now UC AdventHealth. I couldn't have been more impressed with every single staff member, the phenomenal care and the cleanliness of the hospital. I'd never think twice about going there again.

This hospital has changed since Advent Health to it over - and not for the better. A friend recently admitted to the Behavioral floor was ignored by physician, neurologist, social workers, and pretty much everyone else. Not recommended!

I over paid my hospital bill from AdventHealth Hinsdale. I'm been trying to get a refund for the past two months. Each time a different story. My insurance company has called them and verified that I did over pay. From the other reviews of this facility I can see that it is a schlock operation.

I was raised with this being my go-to healthcare system. Times change. I would recommend running in the other direction, and fast. I have been attempting to at least discuss a doctor-related error that left me with the loss of a child and hospitalized for 3 days. (A family was awarded $5 million for a similar situation-- apparently, it takes a lawsuit to get anyone in this place to pretend they care or listen). On my last review for the doctor, I was told to reach out to the We Care team. I have been attempting to communicate with them since March and have received zero attempts to reconcile the situation or even heard from someone willing to LISTEN to the traumatic experience that took place. Ironically, it is clear the "We Care" team and this system does not care...until they are brought to court. If you want a healthcare provider that refuses to demonstrate any level of concern or human decency, this is your place. Otherwise, RUN.

If you are concerned for the mental health of a loved one, do NOT take them to this hospital. The hospital ignores the family, and does not care about the patients. Mentally ill patients are left to run out of the hospital while family is sitting in the waiting room. After repeated questions, the doctor informed us that he "didn't know" where our sick loved one went, and we were left to find them miles away running through the street in the dark. Disgusting lack of ethics, morales, or accountability for a healthcare institution.

The ER in Adventist Hinsdale Hospital in Hinsdale IL neglected their duty to provide reasonable care and caused emotional and physical distress to my daughter by discharging her home after a sudden onset of a paralysis in both of her legs which happened a couple of days ago. Meaning that they should have known she could fall, and she did fall many times at home, but thankfully did not get injured. The ER doctor did not care. She was not helped to the bathroom in the ED. Fall Risk was ignored. On 2/14/2023 she had emergency spine surgery somewhere else. A tumor was removed that was pressing on her spinal cord. So much suffering could have been avoided if they just did some diagnostics instead of sending her home on her paralyzed legs and expected her to be safe that way.

This is one of the best hospitals you can go to. Friends and family have come here for one reason or another and have always received the best quality care. Hospital staff and doctors are great. More recently my nephew was born here and the doctors were extremely attentive to family and especially the babies needs. They went above and beyond ! Lots of love to the nurses and doctors!

Nurses are wonderful and the rooms are very spacious. A for the nursesBut the food.... bring your own is all I can say. F for the foodThe lettuce is soggy, and not even fit for my chickens. We waited two hours and the soup was cold the grilled cheese was soggy and the lettuce might as well go in the garbage. If you have someone to take care of you have them bring food in.
