“I just happen to find this little Gem by accident, lol. Its a little consignment store they have antiques, big and small, all very reasonably priced. My mother-in-law bought a small glass cabinet for dvds and nic-nacs. It was beautiful wood and glass 4 shelves for $70.00, which we thought was a great price. They have a range of items there glasses, dishes, pictures, furniture, rugs, etc. They had a cute small chandelier for $25.00. I just bought one. I was bummed about that because the one they had was cuter! If you are into this kind of stuff or redecorating, give them a try. It's small but worth it.”
“This is by far one of my two favorite stores. I find the most beautiful treasures that are reasonably price. To make it feel better that I am buying when I should not, I am able to consign what I no longer want with them. The staff is very friendly. I wish I knew about them years ago. If you are looking for vintage or classy look furniture or art work this is the place to go.”
12 - 5PM
1107 Central Ave, Wilmette“The staff is friendly and helpful. I fortunately visited during 25% sales and in my size find great deals. It's crowded usually during those sales so keep that in mind. They are closed on specific days so plan accordingly.”
“Tricky to find, but has an extremely well curated selection of beautiful, high-quality pieces. If you like shopping secondhand but don't want to deal with huge stores where you have to treasure hunt, this is the shop for you. The prices are higher than Goodwill or Salvation Army, but that's because the owners work hard to curate a fabulous selection. It really is a "resale boutique". The sale rack is where you will find great deals. I found 3 beautiful pieces there, and my total was $20.Tip for finding it: they are located in a business complex off Old Deerfield Road, so the storefront isn't visible from the road. If you're driving towards Jewel-Osco, make a left turn right after you pass the bike path. You will still be on Old Deerfield Road (not sure how this works), and then the store will be immediately on your right.”
10AM - 5:30PM
372 Hazel Ave, Glencoe“I recently visited the North Shore Exchange's online store, and was impressed with the selection of items available for purchase. It was well-organized, making it easy to browse through the various sections.
More importantly, the staff was friendly and helpful -- particularly Patricia, the store manager, whose assistance was greatly appreciated. Finally, I like the fact that this consignment shop supports a number of worthy causes, as the proceeds go towards helping those in need.
Overall, I had a great experience, and would highly recommend it to others looking for a unique shopping experience, while also supporting a good cause.”
“My Best Friend’s Closet is truly a magical place with an amazing owner! I went in with the intention to just look around, and I walked out with a fabulous jacket. The selection is top notch full of amazing designer items at great prices. Definitely a place you must check out!”
11AM - 7PM
9840 N Milwaukee Ave, Des Plaines“A ton of well-organized interesting finds.Hint would be if you do see something that you think you like I would go ahead and purchase it for the low price because of left even overnight it might be gone the next day...”
“I purchased from them and had my items shipped. Everything surpassed my expectations. Professional staff. Great communication. Friendly. Accommodating. What a wonderful experience. I highly recommend them without hesitation!”
“This is a new owner and completely new merchandise. Prices are very fair and the owners are very friendly and courteous. Please support the small business by either donating, consigning or purchasing here. I have nothing to do with this business, but as a small business owner in the same community I want them to do well. The majority of their items are high end designer including Lululemon, Tory Burch etc.”
“I had an absolutely phenomenal shopping experience at Plato's Closet in Libertyville, and it's hands down the best Plato's location in the Chicago area. The selection of Jordan's is just amazing – such a wide variety of styles and sizes, all in excellent condition and at prices that make you wonder why anyone shops at malls anymore. What truly sets this store apart, though, is the manager. She is incredibly knowledgeable, smart, and friendly, with a distinctly entrepreneurial approach that had me mistaking her for the owner! She understands fashion and business like no one else, and her passion for what she does shines through in every interaction.Shopping here is a breath of fresh air if you're tired of the high prices and indifferent service often found at malls. The atmosphere is welcoming, the staff are attentive and genuinely helpful, and the quality and range of clothing – especially the Jordans – are simply unbeatable. If you're looking for a top-notch shopping experience without the mall attitude, Plato's Closet in Libertyville is the place to go.”
“If I could, I would give Upscale Rummage 10 stars! This place is truly amazing. Do you love thrifting? Do you think you've got your thrifting routine all worked out? Do you think you've got your line up of unmissable Chicago thrifts sorted? You are wrong... unless you've already been to Upscale Rummage already and this is your number #1 thrifting experience. No thrift store in Chicago gets even near the fabulousness of this place. It's huge but it is not filled with garbage. New and incredible stuff comes in every week! Great antique and modern furniture, light fixtures, books, records, clothes, jewelry, kitchenware, gardening, sport gears, textiles, rugs, mirrors and art... they also have a year-round Xmas shop and regular department discounts. This shop is also incredibly well curated. Items are very fairly priced too. Rene', the owner, and her army of charming helpers are a true delight. Always smiling and welcoming. We bought so much from this store. It has brought so much joy. We end up there almost every week and rarely leave empty handed. And the money goes to charity. I mean, what more do you want? This is the one and only thrift store in you need. Chicagoans, take a trip to Libertyville and learn how it's done. If you have not been to Upscale Rummage yet, you don't know what thrifting is about. Go. NOW!”
