This gym is a hidden gem in the northern suburbs. Coach Aditya teaches great techniques for competition and self defense and the people that train here are awesome. My only gripe is that the gym is too far away from me and I can’t come more often.

I am from out of town and wanted to get some training in. I dropped in at Brasa and it was great. Good training, good instruction, and friendly people to roll with. I will be stopping by anytime I am in town.

I bring my young son here and he loves it. The coaches are really great and spend time with each student during the classes. My son comes out happy and well exercised after each session. He is young so it will take time to develop skills, but he is on the way and it's great to see.

Amazing gym for Jiu jitsu. Aditya (instructor) is great with the kids class and is also amazing improving the skills of the adults in the adult class. Everyone is very welcoming and respectful of all skill levels. I'd highly recommend trying a class to see for yourself.

I’ve been coming here for a few weeks and let me tell you it has been a life-changing experience. Like most, during the pandemic I was inactive and quickly got out of shape. This is an incredible workout. Aditya is hands down the best Jiu Jitsu coach I have ever had. His teaching style is extremely unique and easy to grasp. Everyone needs some BJJ in their life. Take a chance on this place, I did.

I've done jiu jitsu on and off since the late 90s. I had taken classes at many schools over the years and when it came time to get my sons started, I knew what I was looking for. I visited many schools on the north side of Chicago and surrounding suburbs, and I am so happy we found Brasa Highwood.Aditya is extremely technical, knowledgeable and great with kids. He possesses that balance of patience and understanding combined with discipline and motivation. You can totally tell he loves jiu jitsu through and through. My boys love going to class and I couldn't be happier with the instruction. A huge bonus that veteran black belts and world champions (Marcelo Cazuza, Felipe Costa, etc) step in to teach class, too.Now I just need to get myself back in the game...

I have been practicing at Brasa Highwood for 1.5 years. I love it here! Coach Aditya and Coach Marcelo are so welcoming. They have created a welcome team environment where everyone works together. I have made new friends here as have my 3 kids. I love the family friendly aspect where you'll find parents rolling with their kids at the end of a class. BJJ can be challenging to learn with so many techniques but the coaches always spend extra time with us and help us reach our full potential. If you are looking for a place to learn self defense, get into great shape, be a part of a truly great group of people and learn BJJ - this is the place for you!

I've been here for about two months now. This is my third brazilian jiu jitsu gym since I have moved around a lot. Aditya is the primary coach, and Marcelo teaches on Tuesdays. It's a safe and clean environment and a great place to start jiu jitsu. What marks good instruction (in my opinion) from bad instruction is whether or not the coach is working on and developing their own game. The instructors here do that well, sign up and you'll be in good hands.
