We feel so fortunate to have found the little blue school! We moved from out of state and were seeking a warm, inclusive community for our family. Our oldest has thrived at RNS and loves engaging in daily outdoor play and environmental explorations. The teachers are deeply invested in the social and emotional development of each child. Learning is hands-on, inquiry-based, and so joy filled. Our oldest counts the number of sleeps left to return to school on weekends and vacations, and our youngest can't wait to join next year. We are very grateful to be a part of such a nurturing and grounded community.

We have absolutely loved the last three years at Ravinia Nursery School. My son has made so many friends and I know he will be amply prepared for starting kindergarten next fall. My younger son just started and is already doing great! The teachers are incredible - warm, engaging, and so committed to providing a quality preschool education. I can’t say enough about how positive our experience has been.

Ravinia Nursery School has the most warm and friendly environment - the teachers and the school. My daughter is THRIVING at school and loves going each day. The teachers and parents have become friends, which makes it feel like family. If you are looking for a nursery school that focuses on learning through play, look no further! I just love this little blue school :)

Excellent, high quality preschool program. Play based curriculum and developmentally appropriate activities for preschoolers are the focus. My family recently moved to Highland Park and RNS has been such a positive and loving environment for our daughter. The staff is clearly dedicated as well as the parent lead board. Highly recommend!

Can't say enough about how our daughter has flourished at RNS. Amazing staff and approach that keeps the kids (and parents) always engaged. Would recommend RNS to any parent up in the area.

Ravinia Nursery School has been one of the greatest blessings in our family’s life. The staff and building provide such a warm, nurturing, engaging environment that my boys can’t wait to get to each day. They have fostered a love of learning in my children that I will be forever grateful for. Moreover, this school has blessed our family with some lifelong friends. We began at RNS new to HP, wondering how we would ever meet people. The sense of community at this school is so strong that within a few months we not only felt a part of the school’s family but felt connected to our new Highland Park community as well.Ravinia Nursery School was the best decision we ever made.

I can't say enough good things about Ravinia. I've had two children attend Ravinia throughout a period of 6 years. The staff remains nearly 100% the same, meaning attrition is not pervasive as it is in other schools. The teachers are nurturing, caring and playful. While a play-based school structure, the education helps them prepare for kindergarten unlike other schools I've seen in the area. The sense of community among the families is the final reason I really love this school. We've made life-long friendships that will continue even if our children don't go to the same school district. I'd highly recommend checking out the school and taking a tour with Kathy, our school director. I promise you won't be disappointed.

I can not say enough great things about RNS! When I brought my son in to observe the parent-child class a year ago, I knew from that day on that we could never see ourselves anywhere else. My son walked right in and felt comfortable with the teachers and the environment. From the school, to the staff, and even their summer camp...absolutely wonderful! You will not find a director better than Kathy Olsen. She's the MOST accommodating, warm, and kind hearted person. We can't wait for all the memories our family will create at RNS!

I honestly can not imagine a better nursery school experience. Although the school is play based, the kids are constantly learning new things (often when they don’t even realize it). Some of the things they do in class include art, music, reading, experiments and outside play. They also do a more in depth unit that changes every year based on what that class expresses interest in. The “two can” class (for 2.5 year olds) was amazing for my kids who previously didn’t separate well from mom- it was a great way for them to learn to socialize with other kids and learn to love school. My son went into kindergarten well prepared, loving learning and school. Most importantly, this group of teachers genuinely cares about the kids and all seem to love what they do.
