I feel it's necessary to write a review for an experience I had several weeks ago.
I have supported this store for years, both as a customer and a donor. I've purchased thousands of dollars of goods and gladly donated thousands of dollars of inventory (art, jewelry, electronics, clothing, housewares) over the years. I've been visiting this location since it opened, and when it was a Hadassah before that. Heck, I even had a class in the high school in the 1980s with the visiting architect who designed the building. I know this place well.
-------I stopped by several weeks ago to pick up a new eyeglasses case. I found one in a bin with a sign reading "All items $0.50." I took it and a few other items to the counter to pay. The woman at the register, Theresa, said that it was $1.00. I said that I didn't think so, and showed her the bin and sign. Theresa IMMEDIATELY berated me in front of other customers over the price. I was completely taken aback.
---In reflecting on it, I have actually seen this same employee have uncomfortable or rude interactions with other people. It defies explanation. How are you going to berate ANY customer? And a longtime customer? For ANY reason? Let alone fifty cents?!
--I now have an ethical dilemma. I can't in good conscience NOT donate used goods that are sold for a social benefit. On the other hand, this employee has left a bad taste in my mouth about being both a customer and a donor. I suppose I'll take my business and donatable goods to another organization.
--Here's a tip: If you work for a service organization, remember that patrons are you friends and the reason that your organization functions. When someone walks to your counter to pay, treat them with respect and gratitude. And really DEEPLY think about whether $0.50 is worth losing a customer who both bought your stuff and also donates plenty of other things that will be sold for years.

Very overpriced. Organized, but nothing is worth it.

Overpriced, multiple employees were extremely rude and short with me when I asked for help. Made me feel like I was out of line for speaking to them or being in the store. Very disorganized and uncomfortable shopping experience overall, would not ever return.

Great thrift shop. Very random in objects acquired/donated, but interesting enough that it's part of my circuit of places to visit. Usually walk away with at least one thing per visit, or the desire to. Which is more than most thrift stores I visit anymore.
