Great local business! They were able to create a drink kit that they didn’t already have on hand for a friends birthday.

I was staying at a nearby hotel, when I needed a close by convenience store. This place showed up in Google, HP Food &Beverage. Wasn't expecting to find the only non alcoholic beverage I drink, but they had it (Bai Coconut) and I bought all that was in the cooler. Purchased a few other items also. Paid with cash, and received a discount. If I'm every back that way, I'll be sure to patronize your store again.

Stopped here to get some beer and wine since the Jewel down the street currently doesn't have a liquor license. The beer and wine I selected didn't have prices on the shelves and now I know why. The pricing was outrageous nearly double what I would have payed elsewhere. Makes you wonder if they purposefully overcharge you since they didn't bother to price the items.

Wonderful convenient store. The owner Raj is extremely friendly, and goes above and beyond to get to know his clients. They carry a wide variety of food and beverages, and everything is always fully stocked. The store is very clean, and the later hours is most helpful when you just need to grab one thing later in the evening. Great neighborhood store that will be around for many many years to come.

I am not writing this review in criticism of the selection of liquor or food. My experience was limited to the selection and purchase of scratch off lottery tickets as gifts for Valentines Day. I entered the store in a good mood (I'm a very positive person) and located the ticket counter. I perused the selection to find the the right one. I knew I was going to take a little longer to make a choice and informed the clerk that I was looking for the right tickets for a gift, so he was aware. When I alerted him I was ready to make my selection, he barely looked up from his phone long enough to tear the tickets and tell me my total. I said, alright, I have a few more to get. I told him the next 3 I wanted to get and, clearly annoyed, he tore the others and told me my revised total. I handed exact change to him, and he practically threw the tickets at me. Since these were gifts, the look of the ticket was important to me. I told him they were ripped, and he immediately dismissed my comment declaring to me that "it doesn't matter". I explained to him again that I was using these as gifts, and he insisted "it's doesn't matter, and added that "it was not (him), that the rolls come out that way". Now, I have been to many similar locations where tickets are sold over the counter, and the clerks have successfully ripped tickets without damaging the ticket itself. He said he cannot "jump the line" with replacement tickets. Legally, I understood that, so I purchased 2 more like tickets, but the attitude he displayed was rude, and demanding that he didn't do anything wrong. It was obvious that I was just an annoyance to him. I assure you I will not visit this store again. Viewing the glass as half full, who knows maybe one of those last two tickets that I purchased to replace the ripped ones will win big money! You never know. :^)

So happy this opened in Highland Park. Great local establishment serving the needs of the community with excellent customer service. As soon you walk in, you are greeted with a warm welcome and smile. Great selection of stuff, good prices, and a very kind owner. Will definitely be shopping here more often.

Raj, the owner, is a solid man. Just the man the city of Deerfield and Highland park needed. A legend if you will. Before HP Food and Beverages I don't even know how I survived. Yes, Deerfield has always had a liquor store, but everyone knows that their selection is very limited and the prices are through the roof. I have no clue how the place has stayed in business. Not Raj. Raj has brought everything a guy in his mid twenties could ask for and put it in one store at the most convenient spot. But don't stop there. This isn't only a store for a guy in his mid twenties, but a store for everyone. A community store. As a long time Deerfield resident, I can confirm that we have never seen such a perfect store. Not only that, but Raj is very open minded. A couple months ago I asked about a new product called Posh, he didn't have it in his store. I came back a day later and the man was fully stocked on all different flavors of the posh. I thought for a second, this man may in fact be Jesus Christ. Anyhow, the store is great. The prices are perfect. The atmosphere will have you feeling like you just walked into the Ritz Carlton of convenient stores. I shop here multiple times a week and always leave very satisfied with a big smile on my face. Raj is someone that I, and many others, can count on to provide the best products at the best prices, in the most convenient location.

I popped in really quick to grab a snack and a six pack, and I was impressed at the selection of goods they managed to cram into a small shop. A few years back, this same location used to be the White Hen Pantry, which never really impressed me. It sat unoccupied for a while, and only recently did I notice that HP Food & Beverages had set up shop here. It's conveniently located at the very front of the Garrity Square shopping plaza, which has just enough parking for most times of the day. When you walk in, you'll see a good selection of snacks - chips, popcorn, candy, instant foods, cookies, nuts, jerky, meat sticks, and more - in the first aisles. They feature a variety of my favorite snack, Slim Kim Popcorn by local company Highland Pop. They have a sensibly modest selection of grocery items one might expect from a decent convenience store, at reasonable prices. In the back are coolers with a number of sodas, sparkling water, juice, milk, and other refreshing drinks. They even have a slushie machine running in the back. At the counter they also have a selection of phone accessories, mints, gum, and other odds & ends at the checkout counter. Where HP Food & Beverages shines brighter than the other convenience stores in the immediate area is the huge selection of alcoholic beverages. They have a number of popular and less-common canned and bottled beers in the fridges along the back wall, and in bigger cases in the aisles. I'm particularly happy that they have cold 16 fl. oz. tallboy 6-packs of Hamm's, which is one of my favorite American macro lagers. In the middle they have a nice selection of bottled and a few boxed wines. Behind the counter they have an impressive selection of liquor and liqueurs. I noticed several of my favorite whiskey varieties, and at very reasonable prices. I chatted with the guy behind the counter for a little bit, and he recommended several new single malt scotch and a blended whiskey that I might like. He definitely knew his products, suggesting that much of the selection is carefully curated. Between their convenient location, good selection, reasonable prices, and friendly service; HP Food & Beverages is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. I'll be sure to stop by more often when I need a quick snack or to pick up some drinks.

Great store! Great location! It is walking distance for the Starbucks! Amazing store product. You can find almost everything here. The owner is knowledgeable about the product he has. Would definitely recommend to stop by if you want to shop quick and great product line.
