We've gotten to know the manager, Chris over the years. He's very sweet and knowledgeable. He invited us to the store today to sample some wines. He even brought out nice glasses for this tasting. I was super busy wrangling my son, so I really didn't have a chance to sample. Glass in hand, I went up to the table for a second taste of a particular wine I was going to buy. I had a case in my cart already. It wasn't cheap, btw. This time, a young kid/guy was doing the pouring. He purposely poured 4 drops into my (and my friend's) glass - not even an actual sip. I looked at him and noticed his intentional micro-pour. He stared me in the eyes and said "diminishing returns" as though to suggest I had been sampling wines all day. It was a pointed snotty insult. I said, "Even if I'm buying this wine!?" He smirked at me like a smug little brat. We regularly shop here and over the years have spent lots of cash on wine. I have been to plenty of high-end tastings and know what a "tasting pour". His literal 4 drops was a weird power play. If you do a tasting, you do it with the intention of selling the wine. I came very close to putting my whole cart back. Moments later when Chris returned, the snotty kid was happy to pour and be gracious. This insulting exchange left me furious. When I mentioned what happened to my husband on the drive home, he told me this kid is the son or grandson of the owner. How nice. Vin has way better care for folks. Chris is amazing, but I hesitate to give this establishment another dime.

These people cannot add, or subtract! The management is rude, very rude. My wife was at the Highland Park location, Saturday, June 8th.
There was a deal to buy two Jack Daniel’s Honey flavor that came with a two glass set, and receive a $8.00 discount. This item was a digital coupon.
My wife had these items in her cart, in the app, and the discount was applying, in the cart.
As requested by the cashier, she gave them the proper phone number registered to our Binny’s Card, and it came out full price.
She did not notice right away. When she looked at the receipt, she advised the cashier that the discount was not applied.
Not only did cashier argue with her that the total was correct, when management finally got involved, they argued as well. Mind you, over $8.00 in front of a packed store. How embarrassing for Binny’s !!!!!
I worked retail in my younger days, I realize it can be tough. In many cases, even if a customer is wrong, which my wife was not, the store will just give a discount and make that person go away!!
To add insult to injury, we live a 16th of a mile away from the Binny’s in Buffalo Grove. My wife went out of her way to this store because they had what she wanted in stock.
She left the store with an eight dollar gift card.
Be careful at this store if you value your money and or your sanity. ?
