I drove 2 hours for him to look at a 2016 6.7 power stroke. Over the phone didn’t mention any problems then when I got there the tail got has 2 holes in it which is fine but would have been nice to know before hand. But what wasn’t fine is how after me getting there is when he mentions that the odometer is off and he has “proof” that it has 165,000 miles.

He had the Cadillac SRX I was wanting and we made a deal the first day. There was an issue with the headlights that wasn't noticed until I drove it at night. Called him up and he ended up having to order new lights due to a defect Cadillac was aware of but would not fix. He was nice enough to replace the defective lights with new ones, they work great. Love the car, great experience. Would buy from again.

What can I say, The owner worked with me personally after I told him about what happened with a dealership in Du Quoin. He did the grunt work and got me into a better vehicle (2013 F-150 Super Cab),than the one I was going to get in the other place. I have called him since to see about another vehicle, he remembered who I was and said he would do what he can. This is the person you want to buy vehicles from. He offers insurance and GAP protection which a lot of used car sales places do not. Steve is a great man and Will have my business for a very long time.

I'm not impressed with Elite Auto Sales in Herrin at all! My granddaughter bought a 2014 Volkswagen Passat on April 6th (15 days ago!). She showed up at your dealership with a couple friends. She was told the oil warning light comes on a long time before it needs to be changed. NOW we know why you said that! This evening they went to change the oil. Well low and behold, the friggin oil pan is stripped out and the plug won't go back in! The oil is two changes past due. And YOU told her she needed to sign the paper stating she was buying it "As is!"I will spread the word......believe me!!!

Repeat buyer.. Bought a 99 dodge ram truck there after getting a Nissan Versa from him about a year or so prior. He sells dependable vehicles. He remembers and cares about his customers. Pleasure to do business with!

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE. Bought a 2009 Mini Clubman from Elite Auto Sales from STEVE (the owner) in Herrin, IL. Steve also discussed my credit report, score, and bank offers in an open area of his business in front of anybody who was in the building at the time. I bought this car because I like it, not out of need. And that was the only reason I was there. Before buying the car, we mentioned to Steve that we smelled burning oil when test driving it. STEVE assured us it was NOT an issue. Four days after purchasing the vehicle and driving it 16 miles per day…smoke was rolling out of the front, into the cab, and the check engine light was on. Called Steve and took the car in. He took it to a mechanic, supposedly. I’ve yet to see any receipt or write up from any mechanic he has ever taken it to. When I got it back there was oil handprints down the passenger side and on the hood. Took the vehicle Myrtle Beach, SC. By the time we reached Myrtle Beach, the light was on again. Called Steve. He said he’d order the part and have it fixed. Returned to Illinois 5 days later, still had not heard from Steve. A week later. Nothing. Meanwhile, the vehicle started smoking worse. The engine light was still on. Smoke would fill the cab of the vehicle. Called Steve. Still no part. Finally…three weeks later…the part is in. Steve so graciously agree to lend me a car since this was my primary vehicle. It had not been cleaned. It smelled like somebody had sex in it and then left their tissues in the floor board…and we left those tissues right there. A week later, I finally got the Clubman back. Same issues. Except now, it has either burned 3 quarts of oil, it has leaked 3 quarts of oil, or his mechanic did not top off the oil after working on it. CALLED STEVE. I told him it was very frustrating and I was yelling about it. He told me he could take it to the mechanic…the same one. I said well, that hasn’t fixed it. It’s the same problem. He told me he could trade in the vehicle for something else on his lot. No, thanks. Steve also informed me that “other dealerships” would just tell me it was MY problem. Four days after buying a vehicle? Yeah, I don’t think so, Steve. He asked me what I wanted. I told him I wanted a running vehicle that didn’t have these issues! He said to let him get off the phone so he could call a different mechanic. My boyfriend called him to explain the oil situation (the missing 3 quarts) and Steve told him that I should not hang up on him. Steve told him that I could drop off the car with his associate and he would provide a loaner vehicle. Steve said he would NOT be in office. When we arrived, it was very apparent that Steve was in office. So I began talking loudly to my boyfriend about the loaner car issue and how frustrating this whole deal has been with the Mini Clubman. Guess who walked out of the back office and once again told me he did not have to give me a loaner car OR fix the Mini Clubman?! I told him that was fine, I could do it myself. How dare you take advantage of a single working mother?Your responsibility as a business owner is customer service. Especially when I already made you aware of the problem. Oh, and Steve apparently had an issue speaking with the OWNER of the car which is me because he never returned MY calls but he’d return my boyfriends. So good job there too. KARMA, STEVE. IT’S GONNA GET YA. And even after asking about receipts and warranties on the work SUPPOSEDLY done on the Mini Clubman, I was never given that either. Says he's only been sued once. He'll pay his lawyer $20K and he wont have to pay anything. His words. UPDATE: I have had the car for a couple of years now. The 1st cylinder had two holes in it. Found out that was the issue the whole time. Needs a new engine. Spent about $3k over the years buying parts. It now sits behind my garage, undrivable. Took it to Mini STL and was told no work had been done to the vehicle recently. They're able to tell bc the cars computer lists everything done. Not to mention the leak was never fixed.

It's a small dealership with great prices. The owner was great and not at all pushy. He also got me an amazing financing rate. I would not hesitate to come back here again.

We have purchased a Ford Sportrac XLT truck, a Mitsubishi Outlander SE and just recently a Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited in the past 10 years from Steve/ Elite. If you desire a slightly used, well kept , decent vehicle at a FAIR price ,and a fair deal on your trade-in , ELITE is your place. If you enjoy a salesperson shadowing you on the lot, free complimentary stale popcorn and shriveled hot dogs in the office and a bunch of senseless small-talk , fluff and fake smiles, This may not be your gig. A Car Lot can't stay in business over a quarter century without doing most EVERYTHING right. Good People , Good prices and no meaningless fluff. Lenny Catt .
