“I have been to this location 3 different times to buy work boots. I was told from other co-workers they use a machine to measure your feet and even detect if you have a high arch in your foot. First time I walked in the lady behind the counter pretty much only said hello and left me to look for my boots on my own. No recommendations on any boots, didn't measure my feet, didn't offer any insoles, etc. Second time I went their, Sylvia was there and right from the beginning she was super nice. She asked me what type of boots I was looking for and had some suggestions which were all good suggestions. She knows her stuff. Next she told me about measuring my feet to get an accurate size. We got an accurate size and the machine said I had high arches in my feet. She suggested some insoles that ended up being perfect for me. At work I walk in mud, gravel, deep puddles, grass, etc. these boots and insoles are the most comfortable that I ever had. I actually recently went back to buy another pair of boots and insoles and Sylvia was there. Once again the best customer service! Anybody can be nice for a day, but Sylvia is constantly great! She really cares about the customers which is a rare thing nowadays! Keep it up Sylvia, your attitude and service helps make people's days better!”

“Cheap, and fast(same day work) with great quality work. To restitch, water proof and clean my work boots was $20. And I’m a sprink… if you know then you know how dirty my boots get(black water). Bring this place all your shoes I think new or old they can make any foot wear problems go away. I will be back!!”

“I came in this weekend with my partner to try on some shoes. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. Karen helped me lace up some thigh high platforms with so much patience. Karen was great in helping me determine the best size as well given I am a true 9.5. They even put in insoles for me to give me the best try on experience. Karen knew all about the variations of leather amongst the shoes to tell me why these boots would work out for me given my past experiences failing to find a thigh high that could accommodate my thick thighs and skinny ankles without slipping down. Love this place!”
“Murphy's service is like service used to be. They know their stuff. The salesman (I forgot his name) asked a couple of questions and came back with a couple of styles. One was very close to what I like, but not perfect. He went in the back of the shop and came back with a couple more to try on. The first one was the one. They don't have a large selection, which I wasn't looking for. All I wanted was a good fit and a shoe for my type of workout. As for price I went to Zappos and the shoes were the same price and I got great service. Thanks”

“I went here on 02/10, I was looking at the guardian angel website and noticed this business was listed as a seller. I was also seeking reflective clothing at the same time. They're advertised as the largest selection of reflective clothing in Chicago so I decided to take the nearly 2 hour drive from Freeport and let me tell you, I was not disappointed and sure didn't leave empty handed. Needless to say I feel a lot safer getting out there doing my job, towing & recovery. I would highly recommend this business for all your reflective and safety gear needs. “I was there couple of months ago to buy a vetra jacket that was on sale. Since I bought from this place before I send them an email to ask if they could put it on hold for me because I wasn’t in Chicago yet but no answer came. I send a second email, still no answer. When I finally made it to Chicago and came to the shop I said very kindly that I send emails and would’ve liked at least an answer instead of being ignored especially since I’m a returning customer. The person that was there was super defensive and snippy. Instead of apologizing he just started constantly snipping at me. I thought to myself fine I just drop it cuz I didn’t wanna get into a discussion but this guy just from now on wouldn’t stop being snippy and rude to me even while I paid the jacket I bought. Very frustrating experience!Edit: when the guys from independence heard of my experience they came forward and were very nice and accommodating. Therefore I changed my rating.”
