I thought my seven year old Birkenstock sandals were toast after years of neglecting to take care of them. Michelangelo proved me wrong and has my sandals looking brand new! Not only is the service fantastic but the impeccable craftsmanship is evident as well. If nothing else, just to talk with Michelangelo is a treat. Thanks for making my old Birks like new!

I have been going to Michelangelo's for years. I am one happy camper to have discovered such a craftsman in the true sense of the word. Always friendly and accommodating, Michelangelo is my one and only"go-to" for my Birkenstock collection whenever reconditioning is needed. New Birkenstocks? He has those also. He provides service for other shoes as well, including special podiatric needs. He is honest. He cares about his customers and always tries to do right by them. Michelangelo's is the best!

Michelangelo went over and beyond to help me. I found him from a deep dive internet search for high arch Birkenstock footbeds in 2019. I mailed him my shoes from Ohio and he replaced the footbed and soles. They were like new even though they were 19 years old! I also bought a new custom made pair from him and loved them. Fast forward to 2024 and the same shoes needed new footbeds and soles again. I happened to be in Chicago over Mother’s Day weekend. He worked overtime to finish my shoes so I could have them before I left town. But what really makes Michelangelo the best is his fun personality, humor, and obvious joy and passion for his craft. I had my Boston Wool Birkenstock strap break within three months of purchasing through Birkenstock and they wouldn't offer anything outside of third party repair shops - that's how I found this place! The owner was amazing, quick to respond, was upfront about what was needed, recommended switching to a leather strap to prevent future issues, and told me exactly what it would be before I shipped the shoes. I definitely recommend this place and will use them again if I ever need it!

Was given this shop’s name by Birkenstock customer service as my son had “lost” a rivet on his Birk Boston clogs. I sent the clogs out last week, received an update when they received and a personal phone call before they were sent back, amazing two DAY turn around!! Will use this shop again!!!! Thank you so much!

Quick & friendly service. Got new cork & sole put on my Birks & they are like new. Also, he punched more holes in the strap of another pair which will make them last longer for me before I will need new cork & sole for that pair. I highly recommend this store!

Don’t throw your old or damaged Birks away. Bring them to Michael Angelo’s for repair! I’ve had 4 pairs of Birks repaired and they’re like new! He did a great job!

I reached out to Michelangelo to have my husband's favorite Birks repaired for his anniversary gift and I was incredibly happy with my experience. Michelangelo was extremely communicative and takes his work seriously; he was very kind and even went to extra lengths to keep the gift a surprise without me asking! The quality of the repair was remarkable-- they look brand new. Overall, I was extremely happy with the service I received and absolutely will be recommending friends/family to him in the future. I wish I could give more than 5 stars! This place gives you a glance into what a shopping experience used to be like. They measure your foot and help you find the perfect fit. They do custom Birks and Birk repair! They actually have birks in stock in ALL sizes. I would highly recommend for you to support this local small business! Great great experience!! They also treat your shoes upon purchase at no extra cost!!

I had a dilemma on Thanksgiving with a turkey grease stain on a new pair of Birkenstocks. Michelangelo's was recommended to me by Birkenstock USA when they could not help me. Michelangelo’s customer service is fantastic. The owner responded very quickly. Following his instruction I was able to resolve my problem and am able to wear the shoes.
