I had my transmission replaced with a rebuild back in April 2020 and it only lasted til Jan 2023.Be careful

Eric was amazing! I am from out of state and was on my way back home when my check engine light came on. Eric got me in immediately and my car was back on the road within a few hours. Fair price and great employees!

I had a replacement transmission installed here. I only dealt with the "owner" Eric. After searching the internet, I decided to bring my vehicle here. It was a convenient location and it seemed reasonable for the problem that was initially "diagnosed." Turns out, Eric told me I needed a new transmission and they didn't have the type my vehicle needed used, which I didn't want anyway. I needed to purchase it new. Well, new is still a remanufactured one from the dealer, which still costs a substantial amount of money. So, long story short, my vehicle was at this shop, a total of 13 days(3 of which were lost because of ComEd outage). Nevertheless, 10 calendar days my vehicle and the remanufactured transmission was there. I was extremely inconvenienced and nothing was done to lighten the hefty automotive bill. Oh, he waived the $95 diagnosis. They made over $1400 and didn't warranty the labor because "he didn't buy the part." I purchased the part and had it delivered from the Nissan that Eric said he ONLY dealt with business wise, after I asked Eric could he lower the transmission cost to save me some money, and he refused. So, he DID NOT warranty his shop's labor on a technicality. He also didn't provide the warranty for the part. I have to get that from Nissan myself. This isn't good business and I wouldn't have done this to a customer who had already expressed they were in a financial crisis and was without their vehicle for such a long period of time! Not my choice went through carmax in Merrillville because they don’t provide the service themselves. When I purchased the vehicle (Subaru wrx) in November, the person who traded in the vehicle ruined the clutch. The clutch was repaired at this place and was told they shredded up the clutch, fine the clutch was paired. Note that the car was in the shop for two weeks because they ordered the wrong clutch. Noticed six months later while driving I could get enough revs and noticed I smelled fluid from the trans. Had to take the car back and they are saying that I had shredded up the clutch which was not the case because of the certain kind of vehicle that has rev hang ( hard to launch this vehicle because of the pattern of shifting). So I paid for the service and now a week later I have chatter and knocking noise sound like mounts were not tighten. Unfortunately I have to go through carmax again to have these Guys look at the car. Please don’t take the car there by choice because these guys can’t work on high performance cars.Service: Transmission

While anticipating a carshield claim they diagnosed the car for an alternator however they try to get out of it by asking for an additional diagnostic fee because it could be a wiring. It's only one diagnostic fee to diagnose an electrical problem. The auto shops have truly increase their prices since covid. Never got my alternator done. I'll do it myself thank God for good weather and Google.

Was not satisfied i took my truck in for a tune up. He said he changed an ejector. My truck was destroyed. It had never ran that bad before. I ran a lot better before i took it in. I have to buy another truck. They destroyed it

Take my vehicle there for something simple he didnt told me they fix it they said yes. They charge me over 700 and my vehicle came bk worst cant even drive nomore. Would never recommend this place to even my enemy.

I had a dealer remanufactured transmission installed in my vehicle here. I only dealt with the "owner" Eric. I came here because it was a convenient location and our initial interaction was good. I made several calls to check on my vehicle's status, while it was there a total of 13 calendar days( 3 of which were affected by a ComEd outage.) I couldn't afford to have my vehicle moved elsewhere, so I was basically stuck. When it came to finding the trans, Eric told me he only did business with this certain parts dealer. So, in order for me to receive a warranty on EVERYTHING, I purchased and had the trans delivered to this shop from the dealer. After I paid a substantial amount of money for my automotive repair, Eric told me he wouldn't warranty the labor because HE didn't physically purchase the trans. But, I purchased it from HIS source! I'm TOTALLY upset and disappointed! I would NEVER have done this to a customer who explained their they were in a financial crisis and without their transportation for 13 days! Not good business. Shame on you!
