Very cool hike!! About trails were closed but we will be back!
February 2024
Always enjoy going for a walk with the kids and being able to ride the trails is a bonus. Trails are well looked after and great sledding hill in the winter.Dog-friendliness: Great trailer for walking with your dogs though I wish some people would pick-up after their dogs, it's just rude.

Everything about this outdoor area is very well taken care of. Great parking, modern bathroom but closed for winter. Portapotty present. Great place to hike mountain biking or walking
In 1944 the Rock Island County Forest Preserve Commissioners purchased a 174-acre tract of land along the Mississippi River shoreline east of Hampton, IL for $40,000. This land was owned by Albert Oltman and was known as the Oltman tract farm. The Oltman tract was believed to be a popular place for Indian gatherings, so the Forest Preserve was given the name of Illiniwek, which means “favorite Indian spot.”
