Do not shop here! Waited a week for a bathroom cabinet when it finally arrived for pickup we received a totally different model. This was a mistake on their part which is understandable (they never apologized) Tried calling but was hung up on and then placed on hold for 40 minutes. Had no choice but to bring the item back that same day but Menards would not return the item without a 25% restocking fee. They refused to waive the fee despite it being their fault it had to be returned. Menards supposedly prides itself on its customer service but this is incredibly poor service.

Connor by the ordering station in the back is so rude! After walking up to him to ask for help he rolled his eyes at us as if we were bothering him.

On Fathers Day I bought a weed wacker spool and since I’ve never installed one, I wasn’t sure how to install it, so I asked an associate and he politely installed it on the spot and we tested it and it worked perfectly! Thanks for GREAT service!! Dale

Max from the Order Pickup department was such a huge help.
I rented a Menards’ truck for an hour and had some malfunctions. Long story short, he spent the next hour helping us problem solve how to make the most out of our unfortunate situation.
I will be going back to Menards thanks to his service.
Shoutout to Max and his team! A team of professionals.

My fiancé and I picked up a gallon of Dutch Boy Platinum Plus paint at Menards to repaint a room in our home. We ended up needing a little more to get the job done, so we went back and picked up another quart of what was *supposed* to be the same color. Unfortunately, the color was mixed improperly, so we ended up with two different shades on our wall. Given that the container actually says "unconditional satisfaction", we returned to Menards to see what they would do about how, due to their error, we wasted a day painting a room the wrong color. It turned out that they were still unable to mix the paint properly with anything less than a gallon, so after speaking with the Paint Department manager Dylan, the best remedy he could come up with after THEIR mistake cost us a day of labor was to force us to spend even more money to buy way more paint than we needed, just to get a matching color!
While I understand that mistakes sometimes happen, how can it be that a big store like Menards can't get something as basic as mixing paint right, given multiple opportunities? Even worse, how is it that a *manager* would use the store's error to put two customers already in a bad situation in an even worse position? Really shameful stuff.
UPDATE:
Sadly, contacting the Menards general office as requested was just a waste of time. If you do that, the general office just asks you to file a claim form, which is then denied by someone in that department who doesn't bother to understand the issue at all. Rather than take responsibility for what was obviously their mistake, Menards doubled down, not only losing two customers for life, but ensuring that we will discourage everyone we know from shopping there.

"I am writing to express my profound disappointment with the treatment I received at your store During my recent visit, I felt targeted and falsely accused of stealing by the manger. To add to the frustration, the store manager then approached us. I explained what happened, hoping for some understanding. But to my dismay, he backed up his employee's actions. He informed me that it is Menards policy to check anyone's personal bags without any evidence of theft. I pointed out that we were unfairly targeted, but he didn't seem to care. And then, to top it off, he asked us to leave "his" store. I was humiliated in front of a number of other staff members as well as multiple customers, to say the least. This experience has left me deeply upset and I would appreciate a prompt investigation into the matter."

BUYER BEWARE!!!!
ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE!
We bought a brand new snow blower here yesterday. Got a Troy-Bilt to be exact. Husband put in the oil and gas and fired it up. For not even a third of the driveway done and it seized up. Wouldn't start via electric start or pull start.
Husband goes to return it (exchange would have been fine too) and he's told they can't take it with gas in it. So..he buys a tube and gas can to get gas out. Goes back into store and us told by "manager" sorry, can't take back anything that has had gas in it. Sends my very angry by that time husband to small engine repair shop. Had to give them $40 to even look at and he was told Troy is very picky about these things and it would be there for a while as in days or weeks.
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!!!

So, I am not one who usually goes out and positively reviews a big box retailer like Menards but making an exception here. We just broke down our Christmas tree after a month of having it and I have to say that it was an excellent tree. Still green and lush after a month with only adding water ONE time!
Additionally, when comparing prices for trees at smaller lots which we usually patron, our tree this year from Menards was $70 (~6.5ft) vs $135 (~7.5ft).
I had (regrettably) purchased a real tree from a Home Depot a few years back that turned dry and brown after only three weeks with water changes so I was skeptical this year going with Menards after experiencing the local lot sticker shock. Couldn’t be happier with the decision to pass and get the one from Menards and will do so next year as well.
One knock on the Menards experience was that we had to drag the tree from the garden center through the store to the front register to ring it up and then back to the garage door by the garden center where we parked to tie it to the roof of our car ourselves. The garage door appeared to be singularly purposed for the very reason of loading large purchases from that area so it made zero sense. The excuse from the employee was that the garden register was not open… also, the smaller lot guys will hoist your tree onto your roof and tie it down for you: not here.
Wasn’t the employee’s fault as he was very nice and helpful to the extent he could be, but that is the type of stuff you deal with when making purchases from large retailers.
