This Mariano's sucks. I used to work for the VH Mariano's and the Service Manager, Kristina Martinez was THE worst. She got transferred to the Gurnee location. Everyone dreaded when she was at work due to her lack of work ethic. She worked the cashier's and clicklist ragged. Lines were nonstop, no breaks sometimes for 4 hours straight at the register. Meanwhile she's in her little cubicle eating while we're on fire. She took advantage of me constantly while I ran my own department. She would pull me to get her cashier lines down while I'm in the weeds with my work and being the only one in the department. Literally unreal. Please let this woman go. She has no work ethic, uses people to her advantage and is always eating. She is the reason I lost my job- I was a good worker and had a son to take care of. I hope this review somehow gets back to you. You are not a good human Kristina and you certainly don't deserve the pay you get and the position you hold.

Every time I visit this store its an aggravating waste of time. They can't stock what they still carry, and basic nationwide brands have limited selection, they went through and did a cost cutting skew reduction, which translates to, you have to shop 3 different stores to get what you used to here in one trip. Have brought the stock issue to the management 3 times and it still persists, there is no shortage of the products at other Marianos locations. Avoid this store if possible.

One of the not so nice Mariano's I've encountered. Comparing this place to Vernon Hills location, it definitely is sub par. Sometimes they will have 1-2 register open on a weekend, and self check out is closed. Corporate has been notified.

This store's customer service is very apathetic, I feel like I'm at a Target or Jewel... The checkers barely acknowledge you and the baggers are talking to each other the whole time. The other day I was wandering around for about 20 minutes looking for capers and asked two employees for assistance. One of them said 'I don't know' and walked away the other said they 'should be by the olives' and walked right past me.

It's been over 5 years since I said never again. I should have listened to myself. Masks not enforced despite the mandate. People didn't have them on at all and no one working there cared. I also saw staff with masks down to their chin. The freezer section by Lean Cuisines had a door that would not close. Everything was covered in frost. I'm guessing it's been like that for days. Bakery section was devoted to Stans donuts. Few "homemade" choices and nothing looked fresh. English muffins "on sale" were $1 more than Target for the same brand. Got what I needed and left quickly.

Will NOT be returning. This is my 4th time coming to this Mariano's with the same passive aggressive customer service. I enter, and being the kind customer I am I say hello to the manager (half bald man) and 2 other employees . They're all by the front door because the employee apparently broke the automated door. The manager then looks at me like I'm crazy for saying hello. And then doesn't say anything back just stares. I then go to shop and search for my items. No help through the store but serval employees walking around talking like they're ready to go. I'd suggest any other grocer at this point.

I bought the Mariano's meatloaf. It was on sale along with the rotisserie chicken. The meatloaf contained grissel, cartilage and bone in it!!! It was advertised as beef meatloaf. I'm very disappointed!!! Last time I'll buy meatloaf there!

I used to love shopping at the store regardless of the high prices. In the past few months i have noticed that the quality of this place is garbage. The produce sitting on shelf is always nearly expired. Once i get home, i notice the fruit ALWAYS rots and grows mold just 2 days after purchasing. Truly sad.

I normally go to the Vernon Hills location, but ended up here to get my covid vaccine doses. Kosha in the pharmacy couldn't have been nicer. I shopped for a few groceries each time and felt it was a better experience than the VH store. Better product selections.

We are in a pandamic! Yesterday 10/31/2020 I went to Mariano's to get a few items for breakfast. I was totally shocked and appalled when I witness a deli / hot food employee with no mask on. She was preparing food for the public. When we spoke to the manager he stated she's exempt from wearing a mask. I get it, some people cant wear a mask, but Mariano's could not find another dept for this lady to work in??? She was preparing food! She was talking over the food she was preparing!! THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!! She was not the only employee wearing the mask incorrectly. I also had to tell the older women in the meat dept, please cover your nose while you are serving open food. I will never shop at Gurnee's Marinano's again. Please train your managers and staff on wearing the mask correctly!!! I called the health dept and maybe they can help with some training!!!!

Mariano's seems to be going downhill. Produce usually is in bad shape, moldy, or rotten. And the selection throughout the whole store is not as good as it used to be. They should really change their name since they sold out and are not actually Mariano's anymore.
