Will never be back at this location. Went to self check out because I had 3 items. 2 coconut waters and a bag of frozen fruit. Scanned my items and bagged them and it prompt for an employee when I was ready to pay. The employee came over and had me just standing there while she watched videos on the monitor of me scanning my items. After almost a minute I told her you see it shows 3 items on the screen look inside my bag and you will see 3 items. Never in my life have I ever had that done to me. Left feeling embarrassed. I don’t have to steal and felt like she was accusing me of that.

Probably best store I've shopped at. I use the app and save tons of money. $5000 saved in last 12 months. Really paid off. Very cool employees. I can shop at one store and do it all.

It was a fine experience. I'm not a huge fan of Jewel-Osco. The selection is adequate, but the layout of the stores is not something I like. It always feels cramped as well. Pricing is usually on the higher side but the sales can be exceptional. With all of that out of the way, it was a more than tolerable visit.

I HATE THE JEWEL APP! This isn’t the first time I CLIPPED an item in the app only to find out later I was charged the regular price. Example: I saw grapes on sale with the app so I stood in the store and clipped it in the app. Now it did say a limit of 3 lbs, however, the bags are already pre-made so I assumed, and shame on me, that the bags were all 3 lbs bags. I get home to find I paid $3.99 per lb for grapes that were marked $1.99 with app, the weight was 4.89 lbs. and the price was $17.98. That’s right, $17.98 for a fricking bag of grapes! This wasn’t the first time Jewel has ripped me off with their stupid app but it is the LAST time. I’m done shopping at Jewel.

Jewel is the GOAT. Full disclosure: I have worked for this store in the past so I am biased but they have been good to me, I shop here every week.

Dear Jewel-Osco Management,
I’m writing to express my concern about a recent experience at your Gurnee location involving a staff member named Patty at the customer service counter.
I shop at this store almost daily and generally appreciate the service. However, during a recent visit, I was met with a condescending and dismissive attitude from Patty, when I inquired about missing items— a gourmet coffee & packaged baked good item, I had purchased. Although the cameras showed me leaving with bags, I explained that the items were not in my possession and asked if anything had been turned in, possibly left in the cart. Without checking, Patty abruptly said no. This old lady does not know how to treat people with kindness.
Her tone was rude and unprofessional, not only toward me but also toward another customer ahead of me. Her demeanor felt hostile and insincere, which is unacceptable in a customer-facing role. I believe every patron deserves to be treated with respect and genuine care — especially when trying to resolve an issue.
I hope this feedback is taken seriously and that steps are taken to ensure a more courteous and helpful environment at the customer service desk. I value this store and want to continue shopping here with confidence.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Nice store, always well stocked. Only problem is some of their sales items don't ring up as they should, then you have to wait until they go look for the sale paper or the shelf tag.

I honestly think this is the best jewel location around. I’ve spent plenty of time there doing Instacart and DoorDash shopping orders. The employees are super friendly, always treat me with such kindness, and are very patient when the DoorDash or Instacart app is not cooperating with me. It’s cleaner than round Lake and just feels brighter and more organized and maybe slightly bigger. It has a much more inviting atmosphere. I don’t really know how to explain it better than that. and it’s always better stocked than Antioch or round lake, especially the produce department. The Gurnee Jewel deli is far more efficient than the one in round Lake or Antioch as well. The one in Round Lake likes to close early sometimes, and the one in Antioch is a nightmare for a variety of reasons. The Gurnee deli counter can be very busy and if you’re going there on the weekends (especially Sunday) just expect to wait a few minutes. But they seem to have the appropriate amount of staff and work efficiently so that the line moves at a reasonable pace.
So if I had to choose a jewel location to shop at for an Instacart customer, it would absolutely be Gurnee.
