Chase Bank froze our accounts and dropped our credit cards with no warning, discussion or explanation. We are contacting a lawyer and filing complaints with the IL Dept. of Professional Regulation and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Chase is trying to put us out of business without justification. I am beyond livid.

First, I love Chase bank. Unfortunately, today I needed the Gurnee drive up and it was disastorous. Because the line was too long at the atm, I moved to a free lane at the drive up. I put my cash to deposit with my debit card in the container, hit send and the call button. Emily, teller, got back to me and said I needed a deposit slip which she sent and I completed and sent back. And then she said something I didn't catch and I said, "I didn't catch that, what?" Nothing. So I hit the call button and again and then again after waiting 30 seconds each time. Nothing. I look up and she's left the drive up station and mic. I honk my horn. No one comes to the window. I don't know if she's deposited my money or not. I have no receipt so I'm concerned. Without a response and no one at the window, I have to go in. Inside, I explain what happened and Emily comes to the teller with my debit card and money. She was just holding it! I told her I was calling and honked and even yelled "hello" but no one was there. She started arguing with me insinuating that I'm lying which really made me angry. I don't lie. I said exactly what happened so I said I'm not talking to you. And the teller got the manager who brough her with. She stood behind the manager and shook her head no at everything I said which again was exactly what happened. The ass. mgr proceeded to make excuses saying the lane intercom isn't working. But funny, all the people ahead of me had no trouble with communication with the teller prior to me. Also, really? You KNOW the intercom isn't working and the teller can't hear their customers but you leave it broken?? I told the ass. mgr I needed their customer service line because I am reporting this and she proceeds to give me the wrong number. You think I'm not going to find out? This is unreal. I will never go to that location again. First time, shame on you. But I do it again and shame on me. I will NOT.

This bank has the worst customer service that I have ever experienced they never answer their phone they put your on hold to get rid of you and they leave you for hours without coming back. Chase is horrible. Go to Fifth Third Bank. Thanks

Their customer service is awful. I felt bad walking in right before close (4:52) and immediately apologized when I approached the counter, but they have yet to extend their hours/return to pre-COVID hours which means it's next to impossible for working individuals to get to the bank before they close if they also work standard day/office hours. I explained that I deposited a bonus check via app/phone capture on Monday, July 26 and that it was put on hold despite the fact that it was a valid check issued by my company. *Their phone customer service told me to go to the bank as they'd be able to release the hold. I brought 20 of my previous check stubs to show that it was indeed issued by my employer. *I have direct deposit but bonus checks are issued via actual check so that management can present it to you personally. The teller was so snotty. Eye rolls. Sarcastic laughs. I "karened" and nicely requested a manager. The teller left the counter and approached a group of three individuals just standing and chatting in a cube. I could see the teller talking to the manager and that she did so in a way that the manager already knew she wasn't going to resolve the issue when she came to help me. The manager was also rude. She made a call to corporate but was slamming her fingers on the numbers (so hard/sloppy that she dialed wrong a couple times and had to redial). She told me that the check either wasn't paid by First Midwest or that my company put a stop payment on it. I went went to accounting at my work on Thursday and they called First Midwest with me in the office. First Midwest confirmed they paid Chase on Wed, July 28. I'm not even that mad that I have to wait until August 4 to access my 2k bonus. I'm upset that they were so rude and were so completely unhelpful. The manager made me feel like a criminal/scammer and was so dismissive of me. I am going to get a statement as to payment from Midwest/my work after chase releases the hold and will be returning to show the manager and to nicely let her know how she made me feel. I'm totally disappointed in Gurnee Chase's team.

They don't answer their phone. I have something rather urgent that needs to be resolved, but I've called the branch several times, and no one answers. I've left voicemails with the personal banker, and they haven't returned my call either.

Really rude teller who wants me to be sure and next time use deposit slips when it was the ATM that wouldn't take my deposit. When did banking become so difficult? This happened two months ago but I found it in my drafts.

Chase Bank in Gurnee, IL is HORRIBLE!!! I went there this morning on my way to work to deposit money into my Mother's Account because she was affected by hurricane IRMA and is in need of some assistance financially. I do not bank with Chase. I had cash in hand that I wanted to deposit into her checking account. The bank teller said to me I have to write a check, which I did not have my checkbook on me or I could use a money order. I said ok can you issue me a money order than so I can deposit this cash into her account. She said we can't issue you the money order you'll have to go to Walmart to get one. WHAT??? You're a bank!!! So my complaint is that Chase bank was not helpful whatsoever to their customer in need. They refused to deposit my cash I had in hand into my mother's account to HELP HER! So now I have to either wire the money from my bank into hers which will take like 3 business days to clear into her bank, or I have to go back tomorrow morning with a check or money order as the bank will be closed after I leave work today. This is HORRIBLE customer service. All I can say is if you're looking for a bank that provides good customer service and works for their customers CHASE is not the bank for you. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere.

I went in to deposit cash and change into my checking account and the bank including the manager would not accept my coins unless I put them in rolls. It is a bank coins are currency I do not understand how they can say they only accept coins if it is in rolls and packaged for them. It is a total inconvenience for their customers and highly disappointing.

I am frequently visiting this location for my work. Chris is one of favorites to visit, as well at the taller blonde gentleman. Both are very friendly and welcoming and Chris is great at remembering his regulars names. He has definitely set the bar high in customer satisfaction! The other tellers are very pleasant as well! The manager with the short brown hair is always moving and talking with guests. The overall atmosphere is pleasant and well decorated.

Absolutely love banking with Chase! Doesn't seem to matter which location I end up at ... the bankers are always very friendly & get me on my way in know time! Love the connivence of all their locations and there are even some Chase ATMS located inside Walgreens which is so great! If you're not already banking with Chase, you should be!

DO NOT TRY GETTING A MORTGAGE WITH CHASE! worst experience ever... It took them 3 months to figure out that we weren't approved. Customer service was horrible it took forever to figure out what they were doing or why it was taking so long. Go to chase if you want to waste time and your not in a huge rush to get a house.

Closed my account after banking with them for 6 years. I was being charged $12 a month for a checking account on the technicality that I had many direct deposits but none greater than $500 each. Never mind the fact that I usually direct deposit more than $1500 per month, but in separate deposits not one time deposits of $500 or more. I talked with their customer service (in I think India, - ie cheap outsourced labor) and they told me off. I went into the Gurnee branch and they were unable/unwilling to do anything. The girl also mentioned many customers have closed their accounts because of this. I told her Chase obviously does not care about their customers and they have lost my business for life. I've also told my friends, family, and coworkers about their business practices. I wonder who is going to have to buy them out in a few years once they run the bank into the ground...
