If there were 10 stars I’d give them an 11!! This place is small town, rural America at its finest. My family and I were traveling from St. Louis, MO to Ann Arbor, MI and had a minor accident that left our rented Nissan pathfinder with a hissing sound and some steam coming from the engine. We stopped here for help to ensure the car was safe to drive and this place took the time to put the car on a rack, checked the radiator and the engine and said it was the AC condenser but aside from losing our AC the car was safe to drive. The unbelievable part is they didn’t charge us. We drove the rest of the way without incident (other than having to drive with the windows down).
It’s hard to find this level of honest professional service anymore. I cannot thank them enough for making a potential disaster into a renewed faith in human compassion.

So here’s my issue is that I got my rear differential fixed on my 2001 ford f150 as well as spark plugs and coils which today I go outside and start my truck after work, my spark plug which is one of them I Payed for them to replaced less then 6 months ago broke also funny thing is I got my exhaust manifold “fixed” by z1 recently had to have a new one installed which is not even 6 months old I also work 3rd shift so it’s no so easy to just walk home when it’s about 7 mile walk which thankfully I made it home just now at 11 am. Crazy thing is the shop I also go to in Rockford il did not charge me for inspection or charge nearly as much much as z1 did for the exhaust manifold so my take is I don’t think they actually fixed what they said they fixed I know for a fact they didn’t or at least didn’t do the job right. I’ve also been going to this shop in Rockford for years before I moved to and from Greenville il

We have been taking our cars to Z-1 for nearly 19 years and we have always been more than satisfied with their service! From routine service like oil changes to towing our car late on a rainy Friday night, cleaning out chopped up mice in our AC fan on a hot day, tracking down an unheard of issue with our brakes - they have always been there to keep our vehicles running and keep us safe on the roads. everyone in the shop is friendly and professional. We recently were in the shop when a young man on his way home for Christmas had an expensive breakdown and did not know how he was going to pay for the parts and labor to get his car running again. Josh went above and beyond and generously found a way to get the car repaired so the young man could get back on the road. great mechanics and great people!

Fuel pump went bad the day before Thanksgiving at McDonalds passing through town at 2:30 in the afternoon with my family of 6. Within 15 min of calling them, they showed up, towed my van and used their own SUV to take my kids to the shop. Above and beyond! They had the fuel pump ordered, replaced and my van running in 2.5 hours. Those guys are heros!We also may or may not have eaten most of their complimentary chocolate.

THIS TOWING SERVICE WAS PHENOMENAL. sister in law and i are from kansas city and broke down at the loves in town. we were on our way to a concert in indy. we were panicking about missing the concert and wasting the gas driving that far for nothing.. WELL we called them and we got towed and fixed in 20 MINUTES!!!! all around and the price was really good too!!! staff was super super super friendly and super understanding about why we were freaking out. they let us chat their ear off about Greta Van Fleet and i hope they listen to them. i hope the employees see this and realize how much their work was appreciated cause i don’t even think i could put into words how grateful we were to be helped and fixed so fast in a friendly manner. if you need a towing company in illinois then this is the one for sure!!!!

This place was a lifesaver! My family and I were traveling from Missouri to Indiana for our sons wedding. We were on a tight time crunch, and about four hours away from our destination, when our battery light came on. It was 2 PM and we found out our alternator was not working. We needed an emergency repair and no one could work us in but Z1 came to the rescue! They were truly an answer to our prayers. They fixed our car and were extremely kind. Would definitely recommend this company over and over again!

Z-1 is consistently fair, honest, responsive, and reasonably quick on any repairs we bring to them. We don't drive new cars, so we occasionally have to bring our vehicles in for significant repairs.Josh always walks us through the estimates and helps us prioritize the repairs based on cost and need. We have and will continue to use them as long as we stay in the area, almost exclusively because of trust, customer service, and quality of work.Services: Transmission

Z-1 Automotive is really amazing! Zoey took care of us and arranged for a tow truck after our car just died on Rt. 127. Our tow driver was super nice and extremely helpful. He stayed after hours while we waited for our ride to come pick us up. The next day they put our car on he scanner and found out it was a dirty sensor and got out car running again. At every step we were treated so kindly, the staff was so helpful, and we felt so fortunate to be in the hands of automotive professionals. There is a reason they're so busy... they're truly wonderful! Just can't say enough good things about Z-1 Automotive. Great folks who really care, and are extremely professional. Thanks so much Z-1!

our van broke down and it took tow truck 45 minutes to get to us and all they said it was a fuse and charged us 240.00 for fuse and labor... come to find out we are still having problems with the fuse and it's the Alternator that's wrong we don't feel like nothing was fixed for that price
